“Moonride” is gaining traction on Douyin alongside the “Backseat” challenge.
Some videos featuring “Moonride” have received hundreds of thousands of likes, and Chinese actress Yu Shuxin (Esther Yu) recently joined the “Backseat” challenge.
Two days ago, the “Backseat” challenge ranked #3 on Douyin’s Challenge Chart and #4 on its Seed Chart. Today, the “Moonride” hand gesture dance tutorial ranks #35 on the Challenge Chart.

“Love given will always find its way back” How beautiful. It’s been 8 years, and Shuxin still remembers you all. It’s been 8 years, and you’re all still here 💗
Ahhh, Xinxin was telling this story on her livestream while laughing so cheerfully, as if it were just a funny little memory. Back in 2018, only three fans had signed up to meet her in person 🥹
But the fans who were there still remember that day so vividly. The snowy New Year’s Eve in Shanghai, the four of them huddling together to keep warm, and how Xinxin asked her staff to contact them and reassure them when they were told they couldn’t enter the event. She even tried to arrange a separate meeting with them. When they finally met, she comforted them and playfully pointed out how their phone screens were all filled with her face 😭💗
And do you know what makes this even more heartwarming? Even back then, when she had only a handful of fans, Xinxin still introduced her friends’ works to them, told them their names, and encouraged them to support her friends too. GIRL, YOU LITERALLY HAD ONLY A FEW FANS YOURSELF, AND YOU WERE ALREADY USING THAT LITTLE BIT OF LOVE TO RECOMMEND YOUR FRIENDS TO THEM. 😭😭 How can you be this sweet?! She has always had such a kind heart.
And in her 2018 vlog after meeting those fans, Xinxin looked SO happy about the whole experience. You could tell how much that little gathering meant to her 🥹❤️
During her livestream, she also shared that this is why she often gets emotional after fan meetings nowadays. When she hears those voice messages and sees how many people now show up to support her at her events and other activities, she can't help but feel moved. Just imagine how it must feel to remember those days when only a few people came to see you, and then look around years later to find so many people there because they love you 😭
Eight years later, she still remembers those fans, and those fans still remember every little detail of that day. From just a handful of people who came to see her back then to the sea of people who love her today.
The love they gave her back then never disappeared, and neither did the love she gave them. Eight years later, they're still here, still loving her, and she still remembers them.
Love given truly finds its way back. And Xinxin, you have no idea how happy we are that the world gets to love you the way you deserve 😭❤️

Yu Shuxin’s 10th Debut Anniversary Livestream ~ Full 44-Minute Recap 🫶
• She hadn’t eaten dinner and was a little hungry. She wished she’d ordered takeaway so she could eat while chatting with everyone.
• She shared her feelings about reaching her tenth debut anniversary.
• She spent the past four months filming. Apart from eating out while attending an event in Shanghai, she mostly ordered takeaway. She said the tiredness was manageable and she’d been getting enough sleep, then joked about liking late nights.
• Her hair colour is natural, she hasn’t dyed it! After wrapping Nian Xiang Si, she slept for 20 hours on the first day.
• She asked fans to recommend delicious food in Hong Kong.
• That morning, she had rice noodles with hot-and-sour radish and drank bubble tea.
• She was already passionate about acting ten years ago and auditioned for many different roles. Once, she took a three-hour taxi ride to an audition, a memory that feels a little scary in hindsight. She landed the role in The Advisors Alliance.
• Her new album is in preparation! Her voice was a little hoarse during the livestream.
• She asked what colour fans wanted her to dye her hair: “Purple? Blue? Green? Would that even look good?” 😂
• Her hotpot dipping sauce is seafood soy sauce, bird’s-eye chillies and coriander. Talking about it made her crave hotpot!
• She reminded fans in their final year of junior secondary school to study hard.
• Fans told her she looked beautiful even in simple clothes. She said her latest favourite fashion item is an apron.
• Her promise with fans for the next ten years: “Come to my concerts with your own babies!”
• Her wish for herself ten years from now is to bring everyone more meaningful work, and for people to keep enjoying what she creates.
• Three words for herself ten years ago: inexperienced, with a slightly reckless streak. For herself now: gentle, resilient and composed.
• She listened to a funny old voice recording and explained its backstory. For a New Year’s event in 2018, only three fans had initially signed up but more than three eventually attended. Looking back, she finds it both funny and touching.
• She received a tenth-anniversary cake and joked: “Won’t my teeth turn black after eating this?” 😂
• She said they didn’t film much promotional content for Yun Chu Ling because she spent most of her time memorising her lines.
• She wanted to eat on the livestream with fans, but she still had songs to record afterwards and hadn’t got a satisfactory recording yet.
