We have recorded this species before - this delightful tiny black dragon seems to be comfortable nesting at pavement level, where it builds its eye-catching red or orange circular nest. The population density seems to be growing steadily.

One of the key rules of dragon-twitching is "if you spot one dragon, keep looking." Dragons are sociable creatures, and the conditions which attract one dragon will likely attract others too.

Small Noble Grey perching on one of the statues at Hampton Court Palace. Many thanks to dragon-twitcher Scruff Cheetah (scruff.bskyb.social) who both spotted it, snapped a photo, and then consulted a spotter's guide to be certain of the genus.

We originally reported this singular dragon nesting at the Mug House pub, Tooley Street, over 5 years ago, but in the low light conditions it wasn't possible to do this dragon justice.

It's been a while since we've talked about Red-Tipped Londinium dragons, the classic London dragon as spotted nesting on many City of London street signs, bollards, and beyond.
