Due to icy conditions, Olathe Public Schools will follow a Two-Hour Delayed Start on Feb. 5, 2025.
We will be following “Plan C” where all district staff report to work two hours later than their typical start time (unless otherwise noted by their supervisors), and all school start times and morning bus pick-up times will be delayed by two hours. As a reminder, the two-hour delayed start option provides additional time for buses to run in the morning, temperatures to increase and staff and families additional time to travel due to the inclement conditions. Please keep in mind that the Stopfinder bus app will not reflect the two-hour delay.

"Minutes" with a special educator are not always minutes of intervention. Coteaching isn't intervention. General push in help isn't intervention. These are "luxury goods." Intervention is a basic necessity! #LeadInclusion #EduSky #UDL #EdLeaders #Teachers

ALT A textured white background with large black text reading, "Minutes" with a special educator aren’t always minutes of intervention. Below, smaller typewriter-style text states: Coteaching isn’t intervention. General push-in help isn’t intervention. These are "luxury goods." Intervention is a basic necessity. A small, simple clock illustration in the top right corner shows the time as 1:05. The "lead inclusion." logo appears in the bottom right corner with the tagline "all belong. all learn. all succeed."

❤️ If you’d like to make a donation, please drop items off at the Santa Fe Trail Middle School front office (1100 N Ridgeview Rd, Olathe, KS 66061). #OPSMakeTodayCount
🌪️Santa Fe Trail Middle School’s Cyclone Closet was designed to ensure that all students have access to essential items like hygiene products, clothing, and even laundry facilities with an on-site washer and dryer. Santa Fe Trail Principal Libal emphasizes the importance of addressing basic needs, noting, “Just because you build a new building does not mean your need is going to go away. Your need is still there.”
🌟 All items in the Cyclone Closet are available for students and families at no cost. Additionally, the closet’s convenient outside entrance means it’s open not only during school hours but also on weekends and during evening events, providing families with more flexible access to essential resources.

Seeking Help from Peers= 0.68 ES or over 1 1/2 year's learning.
THE BIG BUT.... Have we ever explicitly TAUGHT kids how to do this & what it looks like.
Just like Turn & Talk.
It's only as effective on learnings as our expectations that have been explicitly taught.

Great visual shared by @MmeLockhartLDSB via @sstollar6! Strong Tier 1 instruction reduces the need for extra interventions, ensuring students who need intensive support get it. Let’s prioritize strong foundational teaching for every student. #MTSS

Time for Reading and WRITING is never wasted time.
“Silent Debate”
Directions:
1. Post essential open ended questions around the room.
2. Students move about to answer, comment, or ask a question.
3. Whole group share at end.
SHARE the idea with your teachers and school.

Learning Targets are a tool to use.
Posting them out of compliance does NOTHING for learning.
Create them, use them, let them drive the clarity of the learning that gets you 0.85 effect size or 2+ years' learning potential.
Otherwise, don't bother.

Being President of the United States is not performance art.
Nor is it one-liners.
An American President needs vision ,compassion, morality,
concern,honesty,civility.
Fundamental decency.
All of these golden qualities with the ability to lead the United States back to normality of these qualities.
To achieve for the good.
Respect for the smallest and most needy and strength to stand up to powers that threaten them here and abroad.
Our future is the Biden path.
Vote for Biden/Harris.
