So overall, this paper gives us a whole new method for tracking and understanding patterns of social interaction in the real world. the wearable sensors are cheap and easy to use in many contexts, so we hope this can open up new opportunities to study human social synchrony

We also compare whole groups, and find the neurotypical kids show much more social synchrony than everyone else

We did this for 3 groups of kids - young autistic, older autistic and neurotypical 5 year olds in different lessons. For each group, we can visualise the social interaction network of the lesson. Here the kids (S1-S7) interact and the researchers (R1,R2) are left out.

First, we calculate Wavelet Coherence as a measure of how each pair of people coordinate. We think this is a good measure of the social interactions going on in the classroom. And careful comparison of the wavelet scores with hand coding of video shows that it is.
New pre-print with @antoniahamilton, Yanke Sun, Maria Bell, Thomas Gilbert and Sally Day!

Astonishing. But so very predictable.
From a legitimate journal:
"In summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I’m very sorry, but I don’t have access to real-time info or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model.”
Seriously?

Nearly 300 years ago, the first Black performer to play Juliet was Rachael Baptiste, an Irishwoman also hugely successful as a singer.
She performed in Lancashire in the mid-1700s.
Bank holiday rant to academic publishers...
1) Please stop with the automated review invites (looking at you @FrontiersIn). This just turns invites to SPAM and increases the likelihood they will end up in our Junk folders.
2) sort out your sumbmission/review login pages (@PLOSONE). Why are the two portals different? Why does one accept ORCID, the other not?
