These protests are already succeeding and they haven't even happened yet!
🇨🇦 must adopt a real two-way arms embargo -- at a minimum.
@IndJewishVoices @JewsSayNo
City-wide pro-Palestinian rallies are planned at major intersections along Bloor Street and Danforth Avenue on Tuesday, when participants are expected to demand an arms embargo as the Israel-Gaza war intensifies. trib.al/z1erM80

Hospital-acquired/ nosocomial #COVID infections should be "never events".
This is happening now in 70 hospitals in 🇨🇦 (from 10 provinces & 1 territory) participating in Canadian Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Program.
BC hospitals are well represented

ALT Weekly proportion of laboratory confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations by source of acquisition. Shows that healthcare-associated COVID has reached 47% for the week of 2024-12-08. The last report for the week of 2025-06-22 showed that 29.8% of COVID admissions had been acquired while patients were in hospital for another reason. This is healthcare harm.

Now's the time to fix the Canadian Disability Benefit.
- make it means tested including disability income from all sources
- Increase the benefit to $500 a month
- Strong disincentive in federal funding to provinces who claw back the benefit

WAKE UP, People.
Today, Palestine is a REVEALER of the system we live in. Not long ago, European Jews were genocided in 'civilized' Europe, under everyone's eyes: they were "unseen", and not many seemed to care. Today, millions of people "see" and are trying to stop Israel's genocide - protesting, seeking accountability - invoking the very legal framework that was crafted after the Holocaust to ensure "never again". But, from the US to Europe, they are either ignored or harshly punished.
Far too many states are enabling the genocide of the Palestinians, while turning also repressive toward their own citizens. This is both revolting and scary. We must stop it now.

Me one year ago.
I say it again today.
Same Thornhill synagogue is again providing cover for the sale of stolen property.
Canadian authorities grant total impunity to Zionists because . . . uh . . . hmmm . . . .
During last years real estate bonanza of illegal Israeli settlements, inside a synagogue, protesters outside were called antisemitic. I asked Rabbi David @Mivasair about being called an antisemite.

Hey @CBCNews editors, maybe you could learn a thing or 2 from Israel's Haaretz newspaper and take the real consequences of unwavering support for this rogue state out for a spin every now and again

My daughter and I are part of this excellent deep dive into school air quality.
@fordnation performed “COVID theatre”, ie nice soundings promises & big $$ but there’s little to show for it.
Most schools and all school buses are unhealthy for workers & students.

The Ontario government touted its efforts to improve air quality in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those efforts could also limit the risk of wildfire smoke and vehicle exhaust, but there’s scant data on what was done and if it worked. thenarwhal.ca/ontario-school…
PS Huge thanks to @thenarwhalca for running this story and @Flannsplainer for the hard work she put into this deep dive. Excellent journalism on a very important subject!

Found how to view the existing community notes in order to review them. As suggested, everyone please sign up to be a community notes reviewer. I was asked to be one and agreed.

And can you imagine if our public health messaging around this was as weak as the 'consider a mask' approach
'You might please consider not drinking 10 pints before driving"
"If you do need to drink and drive please think about wearing your seatbelt"

So, last epi year babies' ICU rates were very high for both COVID and Flu. Higher for COVID (left graph)
This year we are on the same track.
What about RSV this year?
Babies' ICU rates are *wildly* high! (right graph)
>2x higher than the whole year of COVID

Good news,
New review shows Portable Air Filters work as intended & can be a cost-effective measure to reduce exposure to airborne pathogens in healthcare settings 😊
Thank you @VicLeungIDdoc et al! 🇨🇦
👏👏👏
Good to see our multidisciplinary team work finally published - "Science tells us that portable air filters reduce infections. It's time for public health authorities to make this clear"

Hi Heather, the choice to mask, as the patient OR as the provider & to enact one's choices does affect the dynamic. Because whether we like it or not, wearing a mask OR NOT masking is a symbolization of holding certain values. And difficulty ensues when the dyad is discordant.
