Congrats to our very own, Julie McCullers, for receiving the Walton EMC Grant! Mrs.McCullers submitted a wonderful proposal to add more books to our Book Vending Machine-one of the exciting incentives for our Dragons of the Month, who demonstrate our school’s FIRE expectations!

Today our students received a special visit from David Pollack, who shared his book, The Won’t-Quit Kid. We hope this book inspires our Dragons to continue working hard and never give up on their dreams! #thewontquitkid #nevergiveup #dcesgragons

Electricity in action! ⚡️ Our 5th graders in Mrs. Benner’s science lesson, explored the power of static electricity—separating salt & pepper, then rolling a can across the table without even touching it! Kids, you CAN try this at home - ask them to show you! #dcesdragons

5th grade came, they saw, and they conquered! Thanks to all the generosity in the United Way Change War, the 5th graders earned the ultimate reward: pieing their teachers! Principal and AP were collateral damage 🤪 Our school was able to raise $1,344 for United Way! #dcesdragons

Reflecting on this sweet new tradition 4th grade started this year - a Friendsgiving! Before sitting down, they learned a bit about table etiquette and worked on creating thoughtful conversation starters to keep the meal meaningful and fun. What a great way to connect as a class!

Exploring the mysterious world of owls! Our 4th Grade Dragons dissected owl pellets to uncover the secrets of their diets. From tiny bones to fur, they learned all about what owls eat and turned their discoveries into exciting expository writing. Now that’s hands-on learning! 🔍

Planting seeds for a brighter tomorrow 🌸 Our 5th graders carried on the 7-year tradition of planting bulbs with the Oconee Rotary Club. These flowers will bloom in the Spring, just like the growth and memories we’re making this year! #tradition #growingtogether #dcesdragons
