It was a whirlwind of a trip and I’m thankful we were able to connect today! This year’s @Edfunders conference theme “designing systems of abundance and shared well-being:education at the center” captures the spirit in which NCFL does its work! #familieslearning
Delighted to discuss La’s higher education successes at this year’s Grantmakers for Education conference. Appreciate this message shared- “Do Not get weary in well doing.” Energized to expand opportunities in our state thru education and training. #LaProspers

Every family deserves quality childcare, so they know their kids are taken care of and they can return to work and earn a paycheck to support their families.
Today we opened the Team Kentucky Early Learning Center, which will provide that for executive branch employee families.
The data are clear, investing in PreK is an investment in a brighter future for children. This addresses education, workforce, economic mobility and so much more! This helps ALL children and families. It’s not a red or blue issue.
I’m waking up this morning grateful and feeling proud. When you are a parent & you receive this from your child! My children grew up understanding education matters! Persistence & determination are habits all learners need to exhibit to finish a degree! Congrats @CoachJSASmith
I have some amazing Board members! Their commitment to NCFL’s mission to support children & families living in poverty through family learning sets them apart! I learn so much from them! Thank you for your leadership! Onward, together!
So proud of our @NCFL leaders. What a productive board meeting as we focus on family literacy, family engagement and the power of multigenerational efforts to strengthen families and communities across the country! @DrFCSmith

@srebeducation executive committee meeting is always a great time to address business issues, talk education policy and catch up with leaders from all the southern states. And this year to also welcome our new President, Valerie Greenhill. #StrongerTogether

AI isn’t just answering your questions. It’s learning to agree with you, which is especially risky for young children whose brains are still being wired for right vs. wrong, relationship ruptures and repairs, empathy.

I’m grateful to @ericschmidt for endorsing my forthcoming book, HUMAN RAISED. My hope is we can talk about AI not as a force for good or bad, but as a tool that we can use when it supports human flourishing and avoid when it supports human replacement.
