I am not voting this year in the 2026 AAOMPT election as all the candidates are full-time academics in entry-level DPT programs; that is, none are practicing clinicians & none are faculty of post-graduate OMPT fellowship programs. When the leadership of AAOMPT are taken from faculty of entry-level DPT programs that are not practicing clinicians, the relevance, innovation, and growth of AAOMPT is severely impacted.
I am not in favor the 2 proposed AAOMPT bylaw changes. However, I realize they will likely pass since APTA has apparently threatened to take away AAOMPT’s M.O. status for IFOMPT & legal action is challenging AAOMPT’s ability to require APTA membership ($470/year) to renew FAAOMPT
