Son left with 150 degree Scoliosis, almost two year anniversary of his surgery, and trying to rebuild the life, fun, and educational time that has been taken from him. BUT, this is the level of “service” that continues pre and post operative. I have a few letters throughout my son’s life, no service available for you! Mr McCabe was referring to revelations in the MoS about the treatment of Garda whistleblowers whose identities were exposed by former justice minister Helen McEntee after they made separate protected disclosures to her office.
Ms McEntee has insisted she always followed whistleblower legislation but is refusing to bow to mounting political pressure to answer questions about her handling of the disclosures in the Dáil.
Mr McCabe was visibly emotional as he recounted his experience of trying to expose wrongdoing.

The surgeon who implanted non-medical grade springs in three young patients at Temple Street hospital and resigned in recent months is now working in the United States, the Dáil was told today.
Dr Green’s post in the United States hospital was mentioned by People Before Profit TD deputy @paulmurphy_TD during a Dáil debate on the proposed commission of investigation into CHI waiting lists, spinal surgery, hip dysplasia and a group of children who were not transferred from Crumlin Hospital to Temple St after 2008.
Dr Connor Green, a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, who was on voluntary leave from the Dublin hospital from 2023 until his departure, is working in LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, Maryland.

Pressure on her has intensified in recent weeks over her handling of multiple protected disclosures made by Garda whistleblowers in 2023 when she held the justice portfolio.
She has been accused of mishandling the disclosures and ultimately exposing the identity of those who made them by forwarding the details back to An Garda Síochána, the organisation the concerns were raised about.
But McEntee denies she did anything improper when handling the cases.
“I showed very clearly, particularly on the main accusation that I have somehow exposed a person to the Gardaí... that that couldn’t be the case because it was the solicitor of the person themselves that sent their information and details to the Gardaí,” she explains.
So, will she resign her position?
“No. Quite frankly, this is just politics,” she insists, adding that since she first contested the Meath East by-election in 2013, she has seen many ministers face harsh criticism and similar lines of inquiry.
