Scalley said too much is made of the religious element of this game. "At the end of the day, does God care who wins this game? No. God cares about people."

My favorite cancer conspiracy on here:
"Big Pharma suppresses cheap cancer cures."
There is no Big Pharma. There are dozens of companies who are competing for the same patients, across a hundred countries with separate regulators.
If a cheap generic cured cancer (all of them, which are dozens of different diseases anyway), any one of them could run the trial and destroy a rival's billion-dollar drug overnight. Thats not happening, though. And it would be great for nationwide health organizations:
The NHS in the UK e.g. would fund the trial tomorrow, because nothing would save it more money instead of paying for immunotherapies.
A conspiracy needs cooperation. This one needs every competitor on earth to refuse free money, forever, in unison. Which nobody will.
So that’s why this conspiracy is used by bad actors to seed mistrust in your health system and promote their own nonsense instead. Thats how they make their money by exploiting the fear of vulnerable people.

Only three unbeaten teams remain with No. 2 BYU losing at UCF in a wild double overtime game, 39-31. Miami, Utah and UCLA are only remaining undefeated teams. No. 10 Utah plays No. 14 Houston tonight.

CAR-T therapy changed the way we think about cancer treatment.
For the first time, a patient’s own immune cells could be genetically reprogrammed, expanded, and returned as a living therapy capable of producing deep remissions even after conventional treatments had failed.
Carl June did not build CAR-T alone. Its development was the result of decades of work across immunology, gene engineering, and clinical oncology. But June and his collaborators played a defining role in turning that science into something that could actually work in patients.
From Emily Whitehead’s landmark remission to decade-long responses, today’s challenge of solid tumors, and June’s recent discussion of what comes next at IMMUNO 2026, the CAR-T story is still being written.
This feature traces the science behind CAR-T, the patients who defined its impact, and the role Carl June played in bringing engineered T cells into modern cancer care.

All 38 people with hard-to-treat myeloma responded to an investigational CAR-T therapy in a phase 1 trial; more than half remained progression-free two years later. @MassGenBrigham @nejm medicalxpress.com/news/2026-…

🦉 CAR-T persistence may matter more than peak killing.
The interesting part of this construct is not simply that secreted anti-PD-1 nanobodies made WT1-targeting TCR-mimic CAR-T cells more cytotoxic.
Under repeated antigen exposure, checkpoint blockade changed the cells’ trajectory: TIM-3, CTLA-4 and TIGIT stayed lower, proliferation was better preserved, and the population retained more central- and effector-memory cells instead of drifting toward terminal differentiation.
That suggests locally encoded PD-1 blockade may work less like a temporary accelerator and more like protection against the gradual loss of CAR-T fitness.
In solid tumors, keeping engineered cells functional through chronic stimulation may ultimately matter more than making the first encounter with tumor cells more violent.
The limitation is equally important: efficacy was shown in HLA-A2/WT1-engineered ovarian tumors in immunodeficient NSG mice, and the survival difference versus conventional WT1-CAR-T was not statistically significant.
Human safety, cross-reactivity and durability remain open questions.

Duncan Trussell recorded this conversation with his mother while she was facing terminal cancer.
What you’re hearing isn’t scripted. It isn’t performed. It’s a son sitting with his dying mother trying to hold onto every word before the words run out.
And she, the one facing the end, is the one doing the comforting.
That is what makes these conversations so extraordinary. Not the wisdom itself, as profound as it is. But who it’s coming from. A woman who had every reason to be consumed by her own fear choosing instead to spend what little time remained helping her son understand how to live without her.
These recordings became the heart of The Midnight Gospel. And I always go back to watch it again.
They remain some of the most honest conversations about death, love and what it means to be human ever put on screen…
