An announcement: The end of the month will be the last Locked on Nets episodes for Adam and me. It’s been a great ride, and more than anything, we’ve loved chopping it up with Nets fans over the years. More thoughts attached here, but just wanted to say thanks for everything Nets Nation Onward and upward

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry aren’t available. Game 7 of the NBA Finals. You’re down 1 with 5 seconds left. Name a player you’re trusting to take the last shot.

Extremely relatable
Jaylen Brown says he bought a gold harp, and now has someone come over twice a week to play it as the sun goes down while his chef cooks dinner “My favorite purchase, I think my best, my most favorite purchase was, I bought a harp. I bought like a gold harp. I got it upstairs too…” “I got a harpist that come play like twice a week. While the sun is going down, chef is in the kitchen. You know what I mean? Just…”

Got to be Iris, right?
What song became so famous that it completely eclipsed the movie it originally came from? A song everybody knows, but a film almost nobody remembers. The kind of track that has outlived its movie so completely that people are surprised to learn where it came from in the first place. What’s your best example?

Imagine being a Clips, Kings, Pels, or Bucks fan. Terrible. All the rest of the fandoms looking down on them. The top 26 franchises have bright futures!
It's time for my favorite biannual Silver Bulletin feature, or NBA Future of the Franchise rankings! Our panel ranked all 30 franchises by their expected number of championships over the next 10 seasons. 30. Clippers 29. Kings 28. Pelicans 27. Bucks 26. Nets 25. Wizards

Co-sign this. Saw Phoebe Bridgers on Thursday with my daughter Top 3 concert I’ve been in my life. Just phenomenal
I saw Phoebe Bridgers last night, in an arena, with no phones allowed. During the encore, she played Scott Street and they turned the lights all the way up. People swayed side to side, waving their arms. ~15,000 people, and you could see every face, unobstructed, smiling. It was surreal: an experience unimaginable in the last 10 years, and yet something you would have experienced at any arena show 25 years ago. It made me feel very human.

Making a triumphant return to Brooklyn and Barclays tonight (Phoebe Bridgers concert with my daughter - almost as good as Nets hoops)

Absolute A+ idea
New fantasy football league idea: The Hipster League You can roster whoever but you can only start guys who are owned in less than 50% of leagues. If they go higher, you have to bench them - you can only use players before they are cool or once no one else likes them anymore.

Is Time's Top 100 in AI list the worst list ever made? Bernie Sanders and Paris Hilton listed under "Shapers" Shapers of what exactly?

We ran a business for 7 years on subscriptions, and lost every single chargeback dispute even when we were 100% in the right (which was every time)
I'll go on the record: A fraudulent chargeback is no different than sneaking into my house & taking food off my table or cash from my wallet. If you do this, you'll be named & shamed, every time. First and last name + photo. This should be the norm. Isn't X the town square?

And then there’s non-elite higher ed…
I don't think elite higher ed is going to become irrelevant but it's probably tracking to become ~50% less relevant in the new steady state, and that's probably a good recalibration.

Hormozis got a lot of great stuff but this might be the best one yet
Your level of maturity is inversely correlated with how much you want other people to celebrate your birthday. I have never admired anyone who insisted his birthday was big deal.
