I grew up near Northwestern going to #Wildcats games at Dyche Stadium in Evanston. NEVER thought I`d see the DAY when they`d dump the old place for a BILLI0N $$$ marvel. Here`s NU practicing at their new RYAN FIELD. It opens Friday night vs Penn State. A purple W0W factor!

Hearing that the NIT and WNIT fields will be reduced from 32 teams to 24 due to the expansion of the NCAA men's and women's tournaments from 68 to 76.
Sucks for mid-major teams.

.@DavidHaugh thinks the Cubs are in a "crisis."
"This is a problem, this is a crisis," he says. "They underachieved. This is a team that has to look at this as more than just, 'Shrug, things didn't go well in San Diego.'"
@MLBBruceLevine sees key concerns, though not a crisis.

.@DavidHaugh says something has to change for the Cubs after being eliminated by the Padres:
"This is not a money problem...They were aggressive. They checked all the boxes. But maybe they're getting the wrong ingredients."

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman couldn't get going in the NL Wild Card vs. the Padres 😬
The duo went hitless with eight strikeouts in the sweep.

Jed Hoyer is on the clock. With the exception of maybe Jaxon Wiggins, he has no high ceiling starting pitching coming from within next season. He traded one of the best prospects in baseball for a player who didn’t throw in the postseason. A lot of questions are coming his way.

From @ESPNInsights: FWIW, The Cubs haven't won a game when they don't homer since July 30th at the Cardinals (won 4-2). They’ve lost 14 in a row when they don’t hit a home run, longest streak in MLB and longest for them since 2010.

Time for new management and to revamp the entire pitching staff. All this money the #Cubs have that they don’t spend. This team should be built to win the division and compete with the Dodgers each year. Not get embarrassed in the Wild Card round.
James Madison and coaches who recently coached at JMU are off to a great start this season 🔥
JMU: 4-0
UCLA: 4-0 (Chesney coached JMU last year)
Indiana: 4-0 (Cignetti coached JMU in 2023)
The three have almost completely identical offensive numbers this year in points per game:
JMU - 44.8 PPG (T-7th in FBS)
UCLA - 44.8 PPG (T-7th in FBS)
Indiana - 43.5 PPG (11th in FBS)
