Lorne calls out David Eby's cynical, opportunistic politics. This election is about David Eby's record. This election is now an opportunity for all British Columbians, for change. Strong, principled leadership for serious times.

Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare. Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot. As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year. We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed). But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?

The era of delay is over. It’s time to build. Our plan will make British Columbia a premier destination for investment and unlock the full potential of our energy sector. Our province needs strong leadership for serious times. On October 24th, vote Conservative.

Conservative jobs critic Gavin Dew said the province has wasted the opportunity that the liquor ban provided to get more B.C. craft beer, wine and spirits on store shelves. He said part of the point of the ban was to improve the profits of local producers, and many increased capacity in anticipation, only to be strung along by the government. “The opportunity was to let British Columbia put patriotism in their glasses and support our own small businesses at the same time as we were taking a countermeasure against U.S. tariff aggression,” said Dew. “Actual economic patriotism is not measured by how loudly we denounce a foreign government. It’s measured by how effectively we help build businesses and create jobs in B.C. and in Canada.” More: vancouversun.com/news/bc-pre…

Four weeks ago, I wrote to the NDP Ministers of Labour, Jobs, Social Development, and Forests demanding action following the closure of Canfor’s Northwood Pulp Mill. I called for:
• Renewing the Bridging to Retirement program • Employment and retraining supports for affected workers • Working with Ottawa to extend temporary EI measures • Urgent action to address the fibre supply challenges threatening more forestry jobs
Four weeks later, Northwood workers and their families are still waiting. Now, with today's announcement from Domtar about Howe Sound Pulp & Paper’s curtailment, more families are paying the price for fibre constraints due to provincial policy choices.
The provincial government cannot continue to stand by while more forestry jobs and investment are put at risk. We need action to stabilize the sector, get fibre to mills, and protect good-paying jobs, immediately. @rparmar_BC @JM_Whiteside @KahlonRav @s_malcolmson

A sudden 70% water cut with little warning is putting North Okanagan growers at risk of massive losses in the tree fruit sector. Farmers understand the need to manage drought conditions, but decisions of this magnitude require consultation and collaboration - not a heavy-handed approach. I'm starting to hear water restriction issues popping up in other parts of the province, too. Growers deserve a seat at the table before their livelihoods are put on the line. @bcagcouncil #BCpoli countrylifeinbc.com/vernon-g…

New Democrats designate their bill to weaken freedom of information legislation as a matter of confidence. Carried the bill, 47 votes 46, with tie breaking from Speaker. Bill hardly warranted the designation, but a sign of NDP determination to undercut FOI.

Today, I was asked to leave the chamber after calling out the Premier for remarks I believe were false and misleading regarding my record and the record of members of our caucus on LNG development in Northern B.C. For years, the Premier has attempted to claim that we do not support projects like LNG Canada, while at the same time trying to take credit for a project he actively opposed while in opposition. The people of the North remember who stood alongside our workers, local governments, Indigenous partners, and communities to fight for these opportunities when it mattered most. I am proud of my record. As a Kitimat city councillor, I worked hard alongside many others to help get Phase 1 of LNG Canada to final investment decision. That project has created jobs, opportunity, and long-term economic benefits for our region and for British Columbia. The credit belongs to the many people who put in the hard work over many years to make it happen. I will not sit quietly while the history of that work is rewritten for political convenience. When the people of Skeena elected me, I promised to be a loud, strong, and unapologetic voice for our communities. That means standing up for our workers, our industries, and the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. I will continue to do exactly that every single day, unapologetically.

The Conservative Caucus of B.C. unequivocally opposes the NDP’s Bill 9, legislation that further restricts the public’s right to access information and weakens government transparency. This government continues to dodge accountability, shut down scrutiny, and concentrate more power in its own hands. That is why we introduced a hoist motion to suspend this bill for six months to allow for greater consultation. If the NDP wants to force this through the Legislature in the dark, we are prepared to debate it through the night and beyond. We will continue fighting for the people of British Columbia day in and day out.

NEW - @MLABrennanDay tries to introduce a motion to get rid of 1st reading time wasting debate by changing standing orders to let 1st reading bills be automatically approved, like House of Commons. New Democrats oppose it. 🤦‍♂️

Fourteen years. 2,602 provincially funded RCMP.
Same number as 2012. But we’re told 256 officers were added and it’s “historic.” You can’t freeze positions, re-spend the money, then re-announce it and call that growth.

🚨 Another insider tapped to chair WorkSafeBC. The board is supposed to balance workers, employers, and the public — not tilt toward NDP labour allies while businesses face rising taxes and costs. BC institutions should serve the people, not NDP backroom political networks.

🚨BREAKING: The NDP are acting in bad faith for private property owners in B.C. ➡️In Cowichan, the government submitted that the court should not grant Aboriginal Title over Fee Simple Lands and cannot coexist [para 3564] ➡️However, the judge also referenced that the Haida Rising Tide Agreement granting Aboriginal Title to 100% of the archipelago illustrated how Aboriginal Title and Fee Simple CAN co-exist. [para 2140] Not to forget: that agreement was negotiated by the NDP without proper consultation with private property owners on Haida, or the broader public. So which is it? Does this government feel 2 competing interests in land can coexist as they negotiated on Haida? OR Can they not, as they argued in Cowichan? I’m of the mind that this government is being very secretive, and is offering deals that have HUGE impacts on private property ownership in B.C. This is very serious and will impact the appeal no doubt. #bcpoli

As 2025 comes to a close, The Conservative Caucus of BC delivered results for British Columbians. - Forced the NDP to retreat on Bill 7, protecting democratic oversight - Helped axe the consumer carbon tax and ease cost-of-living pressure - Advanced long-overdue recognition of mental health care for B.C. mothers and families - Exposed over $2 million in insider consultant contracts, protecting taxpayers -Secured funding for Charleigh Pollock, forcing accountability for a preventable tragedy These results happened because Conservatives refused to back down. We will always fight for common sense in BC.

With the added news today that the Ridge Meadows Hospital is closing its Maternity Ward from December 18th to December 22nd due to a “temporary gap” in OBGYN coverage, I need to further stress just how unacceptable this is. This shortage has persisted since October and remains without a clear message from the Ministry of Health on the measures they are taking to resolve this vital issue for expecting families in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. #bcpoli mapleridgenews.com/2025/12/1…

Absolutely devastated by what has transpired in Australia. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the horrific antisemitic terrorist attack at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. We all must unequivocally condemn this act of terror. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community, in Canada, in Australia, and around the world. Jewish communities deserve to feel safe, protected, and free to celebrate their faith without fear. There is no justification for hatred, violence, or intimidation ever. The rise of antisemitism, both globally and here at home, must be confronted and stopped. Those responsible must be held fully accountable.

David Eby hardwired DRIPA into the Interpretation Act so every BC law must be read through UNDRIP. Now he is blaming the courts for the chaos he created. Judges are doing exactly what he ordered. The real threat to our economy and property rights is the Premier.
