𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧 Fasting is not a way to manipulate God into giving you what you want. It is a discipline that helps you deny the flesh, seek God, hear His direction, and align your heart with His will. If you are fasting and praying, don’t just go without food. Do these things: 1️⃣ 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 Have a clear prayer burden. Jesus said, “When you fast…” (Matthew 6:16). Fast intentionally, not merely because everyone else is doing it. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 Fasting without seeking God can become nothing more than going hungry. Use the time you would normally spend eating to pray and seek the Lord. 3️⃣ 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧 Spend time in Scripture. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4 4️⃣ 𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧 Isaiah 58 shows that God cares about how we live, treat others, and walk in righteousness—not merely whether we abstain from food. 5️⃣ 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 You cannot deliberately hold onto what God is asking you to surrender and expect fasting to replace obedience. “To obey is better than sacrifice.” — 1 Samuel 15:22 6️⃣ 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗣𝗨𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗥 Fasting does not force God to answer according to your schedule. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes wait, sometimes God redirects the request. 7️⃣ 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗘𝗗 The greatest result of fasting is not simply getting what you asked for—it is becoming more sensitive to God and more willing to obey Him. 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦𝗡’𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗗. 𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨. Seek Him. Pray. Study His Word. Repent where necessary. Obey what He says. And trust Him with the outcome. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8 🙏🏽🔥
