In 1986, David Caldwell was born about six weeks premature at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Jersey.
He spent weeks in the NICU, where one of the nurses caring for him was Lissa McGowan. Before David finally went home, his mother took a photograph of Lissa holding her tiny son.
The photo stayed in David’s baby book for decades.
In January 2020, David became a father himself. His son Zayne arrived nearly 10 weeks early, weighing just 3 pounds 9 ounces.
He was admitted to the same NICU where David had once been treated.
While looking through David’s old baby photos, his fiancée Renata noticed something. The nurse holding baby David in that photograph looked familiar.
It was Lissa McGowan.
More than three decades later, she was working in the same NICU and had been caring for David’s premature son without realizing she had once cared for his father.
When the family showed Lissa the old photograph, she was stunned. She had spent decades caring for premature babies but said she had never experienced anything like it.
They eventually recreated the 1986 photograph, this time with Lissa holding Zayne.

Sportsmans like conduct probably isn't a thing anymore...if you see grown people yelling at professional ballplayers etc...it's more than likely they are doing it at little league fields as well.
Before the first whistle even blows, we now see outlandish behavior, parents pacing the sidelines like they are coaching the Super Bowl, yelling at officials before a call is made, arguing with other parents, and acting as if an eight year old’s Saturday game determines their future. They did not learn that on their own. They are watching you ✌️

Governor Ron DeSantis, signed Senate Bill 226, establishing the Care for Retired Police Dogs program. The program will help caregivers of retired police dogs pay for veterinary costs of the dogs. The program is housed under the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and will be administered by a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of retired police dogs.

The Care for Retired Police Dogs Program will provide a reimbursement of up to $5,000 of the annual veterinary costs associated with caring for a retired police dog. This includes annual wellness checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention treatments, medications, and emergency care for the animals.

For a retired service dog to qualify, an owner must show valid documentation of the dog’s retirement from law enforcement and that the dog served for 5 or more years. A dog that has served 3 or more years and was injured in the line of duty then retired is also eligible.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the off-duty death of Sgt. Corey Griffin.
MCSO said that they stand with the family and friends of Sergeant Griffin during this difficult time and will honor his service and dedication in the community. The sheriff's office did not offer details about Sergeant Griffin's passing. It added that they will issue an update on funeral arrangements when information is available.
