"Sagar" - a curious term that stretches from high mountains to the seas; from wisdom and warriers!
A fitting lead-in term for the conversation we had in a #UNGA81 event hosted by Nepal, with mountain and coastal nations calling to partner to secure the future.
A short clip here from my remarks at this High-Level Special Event “Sagarmatha to the Sea..." - advocating w these countries for access to the new tech; applying it to policy and engineering design; and coming through w the financing to deliver development differently.

Good evening from Afghanistan.
Here, crises rarely arrive one at a time. 3 in 4 people cannot meet their basic needs.
Emergency aid saves lives.
Development gives people their futures back.
I am here to see first-hand how @UNDP can help communities move beyond crisis.

We are living through a dangerous contradiction:
Unprecedented wealth.
Unprecedented innovation.
Yet unprecedented instability.
In this redefining moment, we need dialogue. We need investment. And we need action.

We are where it matters most: supporting communities and countries to build capabilities, recover fast when disasters strike, adapt to shocks, and move human development forward.
Progress is never a straight line, and we must listen, adjust, and partner to support those who need us most.
