While NK cells can and do recognize/kill cancer cells, this is a misleading oversimplification. Tumors employ multiple mechanisms to evade detection and destruction by NK cells, as well as other cancer-fighting immune cells, especially in later stages of disease when patients are receiving chemotherapy. That said, there is exciting ongoing research exploring ways to use NK cells to improve outcomes for patients with certain types of cancer. #cancer #immunotherapy @Agenus_Bio @MiNK_iNKT @TuckerCarlson
Billionaire cancer doctor Patrick Soon-Shiong told Tucker Carlson that almost every oncologist ignores the one number in your blood test that kills cancer:
“Pick up the phone, call any random oncologist, not to shame them, and say, ‘You do a CBC, correct?’ A complete blood count. You take blood and check whether you’re anemic or not.”
“And you give chemotherapy and radiation, and you ask, ‘What do you look for?’ Well, we look to see if you’re anemic, so we can give you this drug Amgen makes called Epogen. We look to see whether your platelets have gone down, so we can give you a platelet transfusion. We look to see whether your neutrophils have gone down so you don’t get an infection, so we give you Neupogen.”
“Well, the problem is, do red blood cells kill cancer? No. Do platelets kill cancer? No. Do neutrophils kill cancer? No.”
“What kills cancer? The natural killer cells and T cells. So in that CBC, there’s a thing called the lymphocytes. Do you look at that? No.”
“The only cell that is important, that kills cancer, and 99.9% of oncologists will say, ‘We don’t pay any attention to that.’”
Even Tucker couldn’t believe it: “Why, if you’re fighting cancer, would you ignore the one cell that fights cancer?”
“That’s the missing link. That is the key element in your body.”

Exercise and remission from cancer: A randomized trial found 37% improved survival, 28% disease-free survival. But little is being done to incorporate in practice except @UPMC 1st health system covering "exercise oncology" program.

Great but sobering meeting at the NCCN 2026 Policy Summit on cancer screening and prevention. One of the best ways to cure cancer is to catch it early, yet far too many Americans—particularly and predictably those of lower socioeconomic backgrounds—have substantially lower rates of cancer screening.
We need initiatives that close these gaps and improve not only screening participation, but also timely follow-up of concerning findings. Access to quality healthcare in America should be a right, regardless of where you live or how much you make.

Huge congrats, @DanaFarber is lucky to have you!!
🎉Beyond thrilled to have joined and to be working with the incredible @DrChoueiri et al @DanaFarber!
A very special thank you to @montypal for his tremendous mentorship and support! And many thanks to all the other mentors who have helped me along the way 🙏
😅 Looking back as a PGY-14, it only took two internal medicine residencies, a few research years, and an oncology fellowship to get here. But I enjoyed every bit of the journey and met so many incredible people!!

‼️ A tumour isn’t necessarily the same all the way through.
Different populations of cancer cells can exist within it and evolve over time, including under the pressure of treatment.
A new Nature Cancer review looks at how understanding and tracking that evolution could lead to better ways to diagnose, monitor and treat cancer.
#LungCancer research has been central to building that understanding. #LCSM

We know most bladder cancers express HER-2 protein, which has become useful ADC target. @scocmem shows >90% of patients also express HER 1 and HER 3 (usually concurrently). This is relevant because the IZABRIGHT R3 trial (enrolling) tests a HER1/3 dual target ADC (IzaBren) in UC. New targets =new opportunities/combinations @montypal @DrChoueiri @Annals_Oncology @ESMO_Open
Pleased to share our latest work, published today in @ESMO_Open 👇
As HER-targeted ADCs continue to evolve, understanding HER1–HER4 co-expression may help inform future drug development and patient selection.

In this article @Annals_Oncology GLP1 receptor agonists reduce cancer incidence. The focus is on those cancers linked to obesity @AparnaKamatMD . A retrospective study with a large sample size in people looking to lose weight . A detailed case/control type method. 41%⬇️ in cancer with GLP1 injections. It’s not clear if the effects of wt loss or the agonists are having an effect. Validation needed. Great work!!

Histological variants are biologically different:
✅ Early RC remains the standard for most of them.
✅Platinum-etoposide NAC in small-cell UC
✅Molecular profiling is needed
