🧠 Can we predict residual tumor before meningioma surgery?
Our multicenter study shows that clinical and anatomical factors remain the strongest predictors, while radiomics may provide complementary value.

Huge congratulations to my partner Brad Elder, M.D., (@NeurosurgeryOSU) on his election to the American Academy of Neurological Surgery.
Membership in the Academy is one of the highest honors in our field. It recognizes surgeons who have made a lasting impact through their clinical excellence, scholarship, and leadership. Brad embodies all of that, and he's earned every bit of this.
Incredibly proud to call him a colleague and friend here at Ohio State University. Well deserved.

Here's our new paper on how specific histopathologic features in #meningioma predict adverse molecular profiles.
Two take-home points:
1. Some atypical meningioma histopathologic features are more important than others;
2. Molecular testing may actually have greatest added value in WHO grade 1 tumors, not grades 2-3.

Great first year for the Research Update in Neuroscience for Neurosurgeons (#RUNN) course at Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA, after many years at Woods Hole, MA. A full house of neurosurgery trainees with great questions.
I had the chance to talk about convective delivery for nervous system gene therapy. The residents and fellows in that room are the ones who will carry this from clinical trials into everyday practice. With trainees like these, the future of the field is bright.
