🎙️What happens when you let an AI agent run in YOLO mode?
Mark Cavage has a pretty interesting take on the current wave of Agentic AI..
Mark helped build early AWS, co-founded Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and now runs Docker as President & COO. He's spent two decades at the infrastructure layer — so when he talks about how agents actually run, it's worth paying attention.
In this episode Raja sits down with Mark to explore:
🔹 Why cloud infrastructure is being rebuilt for the agentic era
🔹 What happens when AI writes, runs, and deploys its own code
🔹 1000x productivity. 1000x risk. Who's managing the gap?
This one's for the engineers building with agents, the security leads wondering what's slipping through, the CTOs figuring out what "agentic" means for their stack, the founders deciding where to build, and anyone who's ever wondered what actually happens when you give an AI too much autonomy.
Episode 10 drops tomorrow at 12 PM PDT.

Introducing Oz: the platform to orchestrate agents in the cloud.
Spin up hundreds of agents from your terminal, browser, the API, or your phone. Each agent gets a @docker environment to build, test, and write PRs.

It may look simple, but overlooking a step in the container lifecycle can cost you.
From dev to prod, understanding each phase helps you catch issues early, ship faster, and build more securely.

One of the unexpected things that happened at Docker Summit in Istanbul was that I won the Most Active Docker Captain award. It was a weird and happy moment because going from just passionately using Docker to actually winning an award from them feels like a full-circle moment.

ALT An awards ceremony where a young man in a black "CAPTAIN SUMMIT" t-shirt and jeans accepts a blue plaque from a young woman, also in a "CAPTAIN SUMMIT" t-shirt and light jeans, who holds a microphone. Behind them, a projector screen displays "Congratulations!" and a photo of the man, identified as "Pradumna Saraf."

ALT A clear glass plaque stands on a light wooden desk. Etched onto the glass are the words "Tip o' the Captain's Hat" above a circular emblem featuring a cartoon bird wearing a captain's hat, flanked by stylized wings. Below the emblem, the words "-docker- Captains" are etched. The background includes a light wall and a blurred dark monitor to the right.

It was an amazing experience attending the @Docker Captains Summit in Istanbul!
We had the opportunity to meet the Docker team and dive deep into the roadmap and strategy especially around AI and Security.
What truly made the Summit special were the people. 50+ Captains from around the world who bring their expertise, passion, and knowledge to share with others. It’s extremely rare to be among such talented people and have rich technical discussions.

This was my first time in Istanbul and also my first Docker Captain Summit. At the summit, I got to learn so much from fellow Captains, engineers, and the Docker team.
Huge thanks to Eva and the entire @Docker , Inc organizing team for putting together such a thoughtful event.

With @Docker support, @e2b is no longer just a sandbox environment for running LLM generated code (code interpreter). It now also runs LLM generated tool calls through the MCP protocol. Those MCP servers are already Dockerized and they can now be started in the same E2B environment the agent already uses.
The tutorial below shows how to use E2B to spin up a MCP server that can perform Internet searches for LLMs. The MCP server is from the Docker MCP toolkit.

At EchoKit, we already have MCP support for voice agents. This gives us a reason to support E2B so that EchoKit apps run LLm generated code (ie Code Mode) and use MCP tools at the same time!

Most AI agents can act. Few can be trusted.
Docker and @e2b are partnering to change that.
Together, we’re making it safe and seamless to build agents that connect to hundreds of real-world tools, powered by Docker’s MCP Gateway and E2B’s secure sandboxes.

Proud to partner with E2B and Docker as an early tester. We are using the MCPs in the sandbox for powering our AI agents - giving users access to hundreds of specialized tools and the ability to deploy any GitHub-based MCP server to extend our agents instantly. This launch changes a lot for AI platforms!

Running agents isn’t the hard part. Running them safely is.
When your agent starts installing packages, editing files, or calling APIs, security is a real problem.
Every new tool widens the attack surface.
This is where Docker has a solution, an MCP Gateway.
It's a single trusted repository for over 200 popular MCP servers.
This includes GitHub, Perplexity, ElevenLabs, and Stripe. This covers all of the use cases in my startup.
As a developer, our agent talks to a single MCP Gateway endpoint. The Gateway handles routing, auth, and policies to every external tool.
The major benefit is isolated microVMs. Docker governs how an agent talks to the outside world. If something breaks, the blast radius is limited.
