A 42-year-old man, against whom a video alleging misbehaviour with a woman passenger on a bus had surfaced on social media, was found hanging dead at his residence on Sunday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Deepak U, a native of #Puthiyara, who was residing at #Govindhapuram, #Kozhikode.
According to police, around 7 am, Deepak’s parents knocked on the bedroom door to wake him up, but there was no response despite repeated attempts.
They later entered the room with the help of neighbours and found him hanging from a ceiling fan, police said.
The police were immediately informed and, upon reaching the house, confirmed the death.
Relatives said Deepak was employed at a textile firm and had travelled to #Kannur on Friday in connection with his work.
On the same day, a woman passenger travelling on the bus in which Deepak was seated had recorded a video alleging that he misbehaved with her, a relative told reporters.
The video was widely circulated on social media and had come to Deepak’s notice, police said.
According to relatives, Deepak denied the allegation and had been under severe mental distress since the video surfaced.
The medical college police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation.
Police said a preliminary inquiry indicated it was a suspected case of suicide, and the probe would also examine the circumstances surrounding the circulation of the video.
A man was found dead by suicide after a woman shared a video on social media accusing him of sexually harassing her on a bus.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak (40), a native of #Govindapuram in #Kozhikode. He was found dead at his residence early this morning.
The woman had alleged through social media that the man deliberately touched her body with sexual intent while travelling on a crowded bus. The video she posted went viral, receiving over 20 lakh views and being widely shared.
Following the circulation of the video, Deepak was reportedly in a bad mental state, according to relatives and friends. His family has alleged that he was subjected to character assassination through the video and claimed that the woman created the content for social media publicity.
The incident reportedly took place in Payyannur. Kozhikode Medical College police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.

The patient has a criminal background, and multiple FIRs have already been registered against him. Despite this, he is reportedly moving freely, allegedly due to political influence.

🚨 Fantastic investigative work by @Indian__doctor!
❌ He has found out about the Patient's Criminal Background! Likely this entire thing was pre-planned to get political mileage!
👎🏽 What a journalist is expected to do is now being done by the people who are only demanding a fair and just inquiry!
➡️ This is the downfall of Indian media houses! Unfollowed all the shameless supporters of that clown 🤡 without understanding the single important demand we have from beginning:
✅ A THOROUGH AND FAIR INVESTIGATION!

The AIIMS Delhi jibe has definitely hit a raw nerve. The little buddy is so rattled that he cannot stop talking about it.
I can understand.
The realisation of intellectual inferiority must have hit him hard.
But our society ensures that people with basic skills, like shouting nonsense on TV, can also make a living. So carry on, Mr Aroor.
I see you are not respected much by your fellow journalists either.
So seeing doctors rallying together must be quite painful for you. Cope harder

Modern medicine (allopathy) treats symptoms.
Alternative medicine “cures” the root cause.
Sounds familiar? It’s the main marketing pitch of alternative medicine.
But ask a couple of questions, and the narrative fails.
What’s the root cause? The answer is usually, “It’s an imbalance of some doshas.”
What are doshas? How do we measure them? How do you know they are imbalanced? How do you know you are fixing the imbalance? — none of these questions get a clear answer.
Even modern medicine does not know the root cause of many ailments, but at least we acknowledge what we don’t know and treat according to the best available evidence.
Alternative medicine’s claims of curing the root cause are nothing but a lie.

Pls spare 2 minutes to offer condolences to this great soul 🙏
Dr T A Kanagarathinam, known as '10 Rupee Doctor' passed away at age of 96 due to age-related health issues in Pattukottai.
Initially, as a gynecologist, he charged a consultation fee of ₹2, increased it to ₹5 & later from 1990, he maintained a nominal fee of ₹10.
Sometimes, the doctor also provided free consultation to those who were unable to pay even ₹10 as a consultation.
We still have such souls in today's materialistic world.
🕉 शांतिः 🙏
