I’ve taken a couple of months to make the decision but I’ve decided, for my mental health and overall wellbeing, I’m leaving the NHS in August
A little more on this grave situation... - Published 8 times - Distinction in every year of Medical School - Multiple audits - Multiple presentations, with a couple at a national level - Two bursary awards Yet, I still wasn't good enough to get an interview for an ST1 job

This is the standard of education and intellect I expect from a world leader. Oh how far we’ve fallen from this in many, many nations. Worst of all, the USA.
In the midst of a storm, Canada and the EU can anchor our ground.

Can we just deep the fact this is an actual political contest and it involves a middle-aged white man arguing with a bin?!
🚨 WATCH: Count Binface responds to Nigel Farage calling him the "establishment candidate" "That's interesting, isn't it? Because one of the candidates was a sitting MP, formerly an MEP and the architect of Brexit... if that's not the establishment, I'd like to know what is"

To everyone disappointed with their A level results today, I left school with 5 A*s and ended up being paid £14 an hour when I graduated into the NHS. Trust me, your A levels are not that important. Do whatever makes you happy! #alevelresultsday

Really interested to know, if you’re still working as an NHS doctor, what are the thoughts on working at the moment? How are you feeling? How is the morale post-strikes? Interested to hear people’s thoughts!

Having said this, I’m now massively leaning towards staying in Australia but want to gauge people’s thoughts on the future of the NHS and whether they’ve see any improvements over the last 12 months or foresee any improvements in the coming years…

I thought the US ‘completely obliterated’ Iran’s nuclear bunkers last year though?!
☢️ Iran is racing to salvage highly enriched uranium at one of its key nuclear sites. US Intelligence officials said the regime could now reach the material, which could be used to build nuclear bombs through a narrow entrance to underground bunkers in Isfahan Read Nick Squires's full dispatch here ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

How far the NHS has fallen that the Royal Colleges are putting out position statements about non-doctors not being paid enough. It's utterly embarassing.
Imagine if RCEM put as much effort in supporting 1000s of doctors who cannot get into Emergency Medicine training or pushing for those who are to have better training and pay. Yet further evidence of their push to replace doctors with ACPs. Pay ACPs more = less £ to employ EM Drs

A complete embarrassment leading the NHS in the UK. Doctors cannot get higher training jobs and this mad man is peddling this propaganda. The BMA have an overwhelming mandate from its’ members. Pay. Doctors. What. They’re. Worth. #BMA #NHS #doctorsstrikes
The BMA didn’t put our offer to their members and now we know why: they wouldn’t have backed their unnecessary and irresponsible strikes. They should give their members a say, call off these strikes and stop risking the NHS’s recovery. thetimes.com/article/c039c2b…

Embarrassing and humiliating for Mainz. Shambles of a football club, rightly punished in the court of law. The club will now forever be remembered for being on the wrong side of history.
Another day, another hearing, another appeal but still the same old outcome; a loss for FSV Mainz 05. Regular defeats on the football pitch clearly aren’t enough for the board of the club so they keep coming back for more losses in the German courts ! I am grateful to the German courts for serving justice and seeing through the baseless and nonsensical claims of the club. Let me be clear, the statement from the serial losers FSV Mainz 05 following their latest defeat is as deluded as their entire dealings and proceedings against me. I have never had, nor will I ever have, any consensus with any person or organisation which seeks to silence those standing for justice and humanity. My values can never align with any organisation whose values and convictions are to blindly stand with those accused of flagrantly breaching International law and perpetrating genocide. No one is above the law. Let this latest victory send a loud and clear to message to the warmongers, their accomplices and the deluded board members of FSV Mainz 05; you cannot, and will not, silence the voices of the Palestinians and their advocates. Viva Palestina !!!

This is obscene. The NHS genuinely makes me laugh out loud, because if this is medicine in 2025, then the future of medicine as a profession in the UK is looking bleak.
The ACPs are picking up locum shifts.

On an ED shift on a Saturday afternoon and there are no patients to see. Am I dreaming?! Is this what healthcare should be like?!

Moving away for most UK doctors is probably the right thing to do. This incompetent government won’t change anything until the numbers leaving the NHS continue to increase further. Honestly, if you choose to make the move you won’t regret it.
The BMA regard a 28.9% pay rise as ‘crumbs’. They do not acknowledge the sacrifices made by taxpayers - or my responsibility to other NHS staff paid far less than doctors. They are trying to hold the NHS and our country to ransom and we can’t give in to this behaviour.
