Two lives are tied to one decision — and we cannot make the wrong one.
This is the donkey who collapsed while pulling a heavily loaded cart.
Today, he is safe with us.
He is standing again. He is trying to walk again. But his hind legs are still weak and unstable, and one thing is absolutely clear:
This donkey is NOT fit to return to work.
We cannot send him back to a cart. We cannot put weight behind him again. We cannot wait for him to collapse a second time.
But there is another side to this story.
His owner came to our shelter today. He himself has a significant mobility impairment and walks with the help of a crutch.
And this donkey was his means of earning a living.
Since the rescue, he has been calling us repeatedly. He has come to the shelter because he needs his livelihood back.
We understand that.
But the answer cannot be to send this donkey back to work.
So now we have only one humane solution:
We must retire this donkey permanently and provide his owner with a specially adapted motorised cart so he can continue earning without ever depending on a working donkey again.
This is exactly why TAWF created our Second Chance for Working Equines programme.
It is not enough to rescue an exhausted animal for one night and then return him to the same cycle.
We have to break that cycle.
The donkey must stay safe. The owner must still have a way to earn. And another donkey must never be brought in to replace him.
We need your help once again.
This case has already touched thousands of people. You helped his story reach the world when he collapsed.
Now we need you to help us finish his story properly.
Please help us give this donkey the retirement he desperately needs — and give his owner a humane alternative livelihood.
We cannot send him back to work.
We will not send him back to work.
Now we need your help to make sure he never has to work again.
Please DONATE if you can.
And please SHARE this post. One share can put this story in front of the person who can change both of their lives. ❤️

Meet Luca. 💙🫏
Only a few days ago, this little boy arrived without his mother, frightened and crying for her again and again.
Today, I sat down beside him — and within seconds, the whole little nursery gang came running. They crowded around me for cuddles, pushing, nudging and demanding attention like the confident little troublemakers they have become. ❤️
Luca stayed a little quieter. He watched them. He stayed close, but he still isn’t quite as comfortable as the others yet.
And that’s okay.
Because I know the day will come when Luca will be the one pushing his way to the front, pulling at my clothes, demanding cuddles and joining every bit of mischief with his new friends.
He lost his mother far too soon — but he has found a little family here.
Welcome to your Second Chance, Luca. 💙
Your happy, naughty days are coming.

We had to make a tough call: our new hospital fundraiser is on pause 😢
Our new facility is desperately needed, but with operational debts piling up and response being so low, keeping our current rescues fed and cared for has to come first.
We’re aiming to relaunch in December gofund.me/1e24db9c3

I explained why almost every actor and artist ends up on the same side. Today I want to show you that none of this is an accident. It was theorized almost a hundred years ago, by an Italian communist sitting in a prison cell. His name was Antonio Gramsci. Once you understand his idea, you will see it everywhere.
Start with the problem Gramsci was trying to solve.
Karl Marx had predicted that workers in rich countries would rise up and overthrow capitalism. It never happened. Workers in Italy, France, England and America didn't want a revolution. They went to church on Sunday. They loved their country. They wanted a house, a family, a better life for their kids. The communists couldn't understand it. They had the theory, the anger, the slogans. Why wasn't anyone following them?
Gramsci, locked up by Mussolini, spent years thinking about this. And he found the answer.
His answer was this: a society isn't held together by police and soldiers. It's held together by what people believe is normal. What you learned at school. What your priest told you. What the newspaper says. What the movies show you. What your neighbors think is obvious. Gramsci called this "hegemony." Put simply, it means: whoever decides what is normal, rules.
So he drew a conclusion that changed everything. In the West, you can't win by attacking the palace. You'll lose. People will defend the system because they believe in it. You first have to change what people believe. You have to win the schools, the universities, the newspapers, the arts, the churches. Slowly. Patiently. Trench by trench. He called it a "war of position." Once the culture is yours, politics falls into your hands like ripe fruit.
Forty years later, in 1967, a German student leader named Rudi Dutschke turned this idea into a battle plan. He called it "the long march through the institutions." The idea was simple. Don't burn down the university. Become the professor. Don't attack the newspaper. Become the editor. Don't fight the courts. Become the judge. Get inside every institution, rise to the top, and change it from within.
Now watch how it works in real life, step by step.
A young activist goes to university. He stays. He becomes a professor. Now he trains thousands of students every year. Those students become teachers, journalists, lawyers, HR managers, screenwriters, civil servants. They all learned the same ideas from the same people. They hire people who think like them. After one generation, the institution has changed. After two, nobody remembers it was ever different.
Studies have found that at elite American colleges, Democrat professors outnumber Republicans by roughly ten to one, and in some departments there are almost none. That isn't a conspiracy meeting in a basement. It's what a completed march looks like.
And here is the most powerful part. Once the institutions are won, you don't need to force anyone. People absorb the ideas without noticing. A fish doesn't know it's wet. A young actor who grew up with teachers, drama coaches, screenwriters, agents and award juries who all think the same way doesn't need to read Gramsci. He just breathes the air. To him, these are not opinions. They are simply what good people believe. And anyone who disagrees isn't someone with a different view. He's a bad person.
That's the final stage of hegemony. Disagreement stops being an argument and becomes a moral stain. You don't debate the other side anymore. You cancel it.
This is why Hollywood thinks as one. This is why so many newsrooms sound identical. This is why your kids come home from college with ideas you never taught them. Nobody had to give an order. The march was already over.
Conservatives made one huge mistake for fifty years. They thought winning elections was enough. They focused on Washington while the other side took the classrooms, the studios, and the newsrooms. They won some votes and lost the culture. And as Andrew Breitbart used to say, politics is downstream of culture.
The good news is that a march can go in both directions. Buying Twitter and turning it into X was one institution taken back. There will be others. But it won't happen by complaining. It will happen when people who love freedom start teaching, writing, filming, building, and creating again.
They understood the game a hundred years ago. It's time you did too.
Ask yourself a simple question. Why is almost every celebrity on the same side?
Actors, singers, late-night hosts, award-show presenters. Thousands of people with different backgrounds, different lives, different temperaments. And somehow, on every major issue, they land on the exact same opinion, at the exact same moment, with the exact same hashtags. Free minds don't behave like that. An ecosystem does.
Now ask a second question. Elon Musk is landing rockets on their own tails. He's bringing internet to villages that never had a phone line. He's building cars that drive themselves and implants that let paralyzed people move a cursor with their thoughts. Artists are supposed to be the ones who dream about the future. Here is a man actually building it. How many of them stand next to him? A handful. Why?
Because Hollywood is not a free market of talent. It's a royal court.
A young actor doesn't make it because he's good. Hundreds are good. He makes it because someone lets him in: an agent, a casting director, a producer, a studio, an awards committee. Every step is a gate, and every gate has a keeper. When your whole career depends on a few rooms, you learn very quickly what can be said in those rooms and what can't.
This is how it works. First you stay silent. Then you nod. Then you repeat. Then you believe. Compromise never arrives all at once. It arrives one dinner, one role, one red carpet at a time. And once you've given up enough, you need the system to stay in place, because the system is the only thing that makes the sacrifice worth it.
Want to see the whole mechanism in a single story? For decades, one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood was the subject of accusations from dozens of women, and much of the industry treated it as an open secret. A host even joked about it at an Oscar nominations announcement, and the room laughed. Speaking up seriously meant losing everything. When the truth finally broke, the same industry dressed in black and applauded its own courage. Silence while it pays. Virtue once it's safe. That's the system.
And that's the real lie. Not that these people are monsters. Most aren't. The lie is calling it courage. Real courage costs you something. Saying what every room in town already applauds costs nothing. Saying the opposite is what costs. That's why so few artists stand with Elon. Not because they've studied his ideas and rejected them, but because standing there is a career risk they can't afford.
Look at what happened to him when he left the consensus. Advertisers fled. Friends disappeared. Invitations stopped. He could afford it. Almost nobody else can. That tells you exactly how free that world really is.
So wake up. Stop taking your political cues from people whose paycheck depends on agreeing. A celebrity endorsement is not an argument. It's a loyalty signal. Your vote, your convictions, your children's future: don't outsource them to people who are paid to recite lines someone else wrote.
The people who build the future rarely get applause from the people who perform it.
Think for yourself. It's the most American thing you can do.

SHE IS SAFE WITH US FOR NOW. ❤️🐴
This is the same elderly donkey who arrived with those two tiny children.
A tractor had run over her leg, and she was in absolute agony. We feared the worst — but thankfully, her X-rays showed NO fracture. ❤️
She was also dehydrated, weak and clearly had not been living in good condition.
Since that day, she has been receiving pain relief, fluids, good food, rest and proper veterinary care.
And we are going to keep her with us for as long as we possibly can. Even when she improves, we will keep telling her owner, “She still needs treatment.” Another week… another few days… whatever time we can safely buy for her means more rest, more food and more kindness.
Right now, she is still frightened of us. When she moved away from me today, I didn't chase her. I gave her space.
She needs to learn that nobody here is going to hurt her. ❤️
And I already know what many of you will say:
“PLEASE DON'T SEND HER BACK.”
Believe me, I understand.
But sometimes 10 or 12 working donkeys can arrive for treatment in a single day. If we permanently keep every privately owned animal that comes through our doors, very quickly there will be no space — and no money to care for them all.
Food. Treatment. Medicines. Staff. Shelter. Everything costs money.
TAWF has a small, incredibly loyal family of supporters who give again and again. We cannot keep asking the same people to carry an ever-growing burden alone.
But YOU can help us change that.
Please SHARE her story as far and wide as you possibly can.
Help us grow this little TAWF family.
Because the more helping hands we have, the more animals like her we can protect — and perhaps one day, when you tell us, “Don't send her back,” we'll be able to say:
“WE WON'T.” ❤️🐴

This nation has become even worse than donkeys! You exploit these voiceless animals your whole life, burdening them with heavy loads under the scorching sun, abusing them to earn your livelihood. But when it's time to feed and take care of them, you either abandon them on the streets to die or sell them off for money.
The hypocrisy of Pakistanis is such that if you give them money, they’d be ready to sell their own children! These hypocrites deserve to be dragged, exposed, and shamed for selling out the very animals that stood by this country for millennia—turning their corpses into profit. Absolute shame!

You must be so ashamed that you sold "81 TONS" of helpful #DONKEY to #China,🇨🇳, sold the corpses of the animal that has done nothing but do every kind of work for Pakistani people for millenia and still does. Pakistan 🇵🇰 would never have survived without help of working donkeys, even today.
"Pakistan’s first modern donkey slaughterhouse built under Chinese 🇨🇳leadership was completed last year at a cost of $50 million.
#China 🇨🇳 has demand for donkey meat and hides, with donkey hides used to produce ejiao, a traditional Chinese medicinal product. Pakistan has approximately 5.8 million donkeys."

Absolute shame and moral rot! 🛑 When a regime's police, courts, and leadership—from @XiJinping and Chinese authorities down to every corrupt, sold-out institution—treat helpless, innocent lives as disposable trash, it exposes a system built on pure barbarism. Every single official and blood-soaked authority that normalizes this sickening cruelty deserves absolute condemnation. No soul is safe where tyranny rules and justice is dead! 😡⛓️🐕🇨🇳

126 of you have already shared this. THANK YOU. ❤️
This is exactly what we need — but please don't let it stop here.
1.4K views is not enough when around 1,000 animals are depending on us to get ready for winter.
We need beds, warm bedding, heaters, fuel, covers for the open sheds and warm houses for our cats — before the freezing nights arrive.
You don't have to donate. Just keep sharing.
Every repost takes this appeal outside our usual circle and closer to someone who may be able to help. 🙏🐾
WE NEED TO REACH MORE PEOPLE. PLEASE SHARE. 🙏❤️
So many of you who follow us have already donated and helped our animals again and again. Now I need you to help us reach people who don't know us yet.
Our first 75 beds have arrived, but we still need hundreds more.
Winter is coming very fast. Soon the nights will be freezing cold, temperatures can drop around 0°C, and sometimes we don't see the sun for days.
We have more than 1,000 animals at our sanctuary. Tiny puppies, mothers with babies, sick and injured animals, paralysed dogs, old animals and cats who desperately need warmth.
A bed is not a luxury for them. It is protection from the cold.
And beds are only one part of it. We need to prepare the whole sanctuary — warm bedding, heaters, fuel, cat houses and covers for the open sheds.
Please sponsor even ONE bed if you can.
And if you have already donated, please don't worry about giving again. Just SHARE. ❤️
Your share may reach someone new who can sponsor one bed, five beds or ten.
Please help us get ready BEFORE the freezing winter arrives. 🙏🐾

Your dog spends about 20% of the night awake and its sleep quality doesn't drop at all. In the bed-sharing arrangement, you were always the fragile one.
Dogs are polyphasic sleepers. Their sleep comes in short bouts stacked across the whole day, and their brains are built to surface, check the room, and sink back under in seconds. Humans run on 90 minute cycles where a single bad 3am wake-up can cost an hour. Same mattress, two completely different operating systems.
A Mayo Clinic study put activity trackers on 40 owner-dog pairs for a week. The dogs hit 85% sleep efficiency whether they slept on the bed or the floor. The humans managed 81%, and their number moved depending on where the dog was. Dog sleep was bulletproof. Human sleep bent around the dog.
Then wearables blew up the sample sizes. A 2026 analysis of 11,733 WHOOP users across 1.6 million nights found that on dog-in-the-room nights, people slept about 10 minutes longer, resting heart rate dropped about 1 beat per minute, and heart rate variability rose. There were a few extra micro-wakeups, around 0.4 per night. The nervous system downshifted anyway. It read the dog as safety.
A 2025 study ran sleep EEG on family dogs and found the inversion. Dogs sleep measurably worse when their owners aren't in the room. You are your dog's sleep aid, and apparently its main sleep disruption too.
The evolutionary read is that this deal is tens of thousands of years old. Humans who slept near dogs could afford deeper, more vulnerable sleep because something with better hearing was handling the night watch. Co-sleeping researchers think dogs literally expanded how much uninterrupted sleep early humans could get.
The dog takes the broken sleep so you don't have to. The trade predates agriculture, and your heart rate still drops a beat the moment one curls up at your feet.
A surprising new study finds that people who sleep near their dogs don’t experience disrupted sleep. If anything, the University of Toronto researchers discovered, we humans are the ones disturbing our dogs’ sleep. nbcnews.com/health/health-ne…
