Announcers always find a way to say the craziest stuff when a 19 year old college kid is having the greatest day of their career

Tim Thomas says that when California wildfires forced his family out of their home, Kobe Bryant quietly arranged to cover his living expenses throughout Los Angeles for nearly two weeks, and says when he tried to pay for a $700 dinner bill the waitress let him know Kobe already had it covered
“Man, it’s crazy. When I got in the league, I bought a house in Bryn Mawr, right? Which is five minutes from Villanova. So Lower Merion is right there. I used to see his moms and stuff at the grocery store. Obviously, we played AAU basketball together. We had our fun times with that. Got a chance to compete against each other in the league, in playoff series, all of that.”
“Obviously, I lived in Calabasas. The accident happened right there. So I just felt like our connection has always been there. You know what I mean? ’96 class, all of that. But in California, they get those fires all the time. So it was one of those real bad ones. We go down to Newport Beach with the family to get out of the house. Might lose the house, whatever.”
“So we pull up the first night. We’re thinking about our house, the whole shebang. We go to a restaurant to get some dinner. Kobe knows the owner. He calls, ‘Take care of my guy.’ Bill’s probably $600, $700. I’m getting ready to pull a card out. Oh, it was taken care of Who took care of it? ‘Oh, Mr. Bryant.’”
“I’m like, ‘Mr. Bryant? That man don’t know I’m here. How he know I’m here?’ He was somewhere doing something. And then the rest of the time we had to be there, which was probably two weeks or so, everywhere I went in the city, I had to pay for nothing.”
“Really, he took care of everything. It was so crazy. To the point where he’s got a bunch of homes down there, so he was like, ‘Yo, just go stay at the house.’ But my wife wanted to stay at the beach. We had a beachfront, so she’s like, ‘Let’s just stay here.’ But he was like, ‘You just go to the house.’”

My take on CJ being the reason for the offense being good and not scheme gets louder and louder
Woody Marks on the play call that got him wide open late against the Jaguars:
“It was just a good call we made. Made a correction on it. We made a little change on it during this week, and it had been open. Shoutout to CJ for making that change.”
Says he wasn’t surprised to be open.

If your partner would fuck someone on a solo trip they’ll fuck someone at home. They’re a goer no matter the circumstances. Preventing them from going on a solo trip won’t stop them from fucking someone

When Thomas Robinson's name was called fifth overall in the draft, he turned and hugged the only family he had left. His 9 year old sister.
Seventeen months earlier, his college coach had asked him who the team should call.
"Coach, you don't get it. There isn't anybody left."
Here is how he got from that night to this one.
He grew up in Washington D.C., raised by his mother, Lisa. He called her before every game.
In January of his sophomore year at Kansas, he was a backup forward for the Kansas Jayhawks. Over the holidays his grandmother passed away. A few weeks later, his grandfather.
Then, late on a Friday night, his phone rang. It was his little sister, 9 years old, calling to tell him their mother was gone.
Within the hour, his teammates, the coaches, and some of the players' mothers were crowded into his apartment.
Bill Self asked him who they should call. That is when Robinson told him there was nobody left.
Self put it simply afterward.
"My heart just broke."
He called the scene in that apartment "the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life."
The next day Kansas played the Texas Longhorns. Robinson asked to play.
Before tip there was a moment of silence for his mother. Marcus Morris stood next to him and cried. Robinson played eight minutes. Two points, five rebounds.
Kansas lost, and a 69 game home winning streak ended. Nobody in that building cared about the streak.
Then everybody showed up for him.
Kansas started the Lisa Robinson Scholarship Fund for his sister. The whole team flew to Washington for the funeral.
Here is how Self explained why it mattered so much.
"Thomas is all she knows."
Even the NCAA made room for Kansas to help. Self said it plainly. "The NCAA has been unbelievable."
Angel Morris, the mother of Marcus and his twin brother Markieff, told Thomas she would look after him and his sister. She meant it. Years later the three of them and Thomas started a foundation together called Family Over Everything.
The next season he became one of the best players in the country. A consensus first team All-American. Nearly 18 points and 12 rebounds a game. He carried Kansas to the national championship game.
Then the draft. The Sacramento Kings took him fifth.
His sister was right there. He grabbed her.
"She just hugged me. And it was the best hug in the world."
Here is the honest part. The pro career did not go the way anybody hoped. He played for six teams in his first five seasons and has spent the years since playing all over the world. He is still playing, most recently in Puerto Rico.
But a 19 year old lost everybody he had in a matter of weeks, and he did not lose his sister.
There was nobody left.
So he became the somebody.

“Steph didn’t have to leave to team up with another HOF” but he flew across the country to meet up with KD asked him to joined the Warriors cause Kyrie was too much for him to handle lol and this year again Draymond Green wanted LeBron or Kawhi to join the warriors 😂😂😂
"Brendan Haywood says Kevin Durant and LeBron James get the most hate from fans because they broke the unwritten rule of teaming up with other stars. That's why they are graded differently than a Jokic and Steph Curry, even though both of them either didn't make the playoffs or got bounced in the first round
