Every growing season brings challenges. From unpredictable weather to tough decisions, farming doesn't always go as planned. Looking after your crops matters, but so does looking after yourself. We're proud to support @domoreag in raising awareness of farmer mental health. 💚

This harvest season, many producers across Canada are navigating rain delays, quality losses, and financial uncertainty. Five ways to navigate a season of loss and grief: 1) A difficult harvest is a real loss, and grief is a reasonable response. 2) Acknowledge the season before moving on 3) Talk to those around you about what's happening 4) Use your body as a guide for how you're doing. 5) Find understanding in shared experience If you or someone you know needs support, find crisis lines, ag-informed counselling, and mental health resources at hubs.ly/Q04z5cjZ0 #CdnAg #MentalHealthMatters

This Thanksgiving, we invite you to try a Gratitude Snapshot, with a community twist. Name one thing you're grateful for in your agricultural community. It could be a moment of connection, an act of generosity, or a particularly meaningful conversation. Sharing appreciation strengthens both our mental wellbeing and the connections that make agricultural communities so resilient. We're thankful for you, and for the producers, families, and communities across Canada who make agriculture thrive. Share your Gratitude Snapshot in the replies. 🍂

"My farm is successful. By all measures, I should be fine. But I'm not fine. I'm struggling with my mental health. Why?" That question, asked by a farmer at an agricultural show, opened a conversation that Do More Agriculture Foundation Executive Director Merle Massie has thought about ever since. In her latest blog post, Merle explores what it means to struggle when everything on the outside looks fine, and why reaching out for support is never evidence of failure. September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today, we honour the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never came home, and recognize the ongoing impacts of that history on Indigenous Peoples, families, and communities across the country. As an organization working alongside agricultural communities across many territories, we acknowledge that the land we work with carries this history. Listening, learning, and showing up with respect are responsibilities we carry forward every day. We encourage everyone to take time today to reflect, to listen to Indigenous voices, and to consider what reconciliation means in your own community and on your own land. #NDTR #TruthAndReconciliation

October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we encourage agricultural communities across Canada to be part of it. You don't have to do everything to make a difference. Hosting a conversation in your community, checking in on a neighbour, sharing a resource with someone who might need it, or simply asking how someone is really doing contributes can help build a culture where mental health matters. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing content, events, and resources to help you get involved. We hope you'll join us.
