You’re welcome, and thank you for sharing!!
This session was awesome! I love how @alisonmellomath explained how tricks place a lot more “cognitive load”on our kids.🙌🏼@BuildMathMinds

Let's do it all again tomorrow! Join me at 11:00 Eastern as we discuss ways to upgrade our instruction by replacing tricks with thinking. Hope to see you there! 😀👇

I totally agree! I felt so validated watching your session!🙌🏼 I also teach my 5th graders not to move the decimal and not to add that zero & am still learning to stop the insanity😉. I appreciate your session!!💗
Today, my 5th graders explored finding the GCF using the Euclidean algorithm (as shown by the fabulous @howie_hua ) with both tactile & pen/paper versions. So empowering!🤩🎉@hickoryschools #numbersense #greatestcommonfactor #MTBoS

They loved it!! My girls are finding the GCF of 30 & 40 (I think they added an extra step at the very end, b/c they already had the GCF of 10), and he is finding the GCF of 26 & 12. Thank you so much! They will explore more tomorrow!👏🏼🎉
