After POTUS announced that US is working on a "massive" potash purchase from Belarus, Belarusian opposition leader Tsikhanouskaya tells me in NYC: "potash is the main source of income for Lukashenko and this money goes for repressions, for supporting Russia in this war"

Our long-range responses had a very significant impact in the Moscow region last night. One of Russia’s key oil industry facilities and the aggressor’s logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that sustain the war machine. The systems used included FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican. I thank our warriors for their accuracy: the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Sanctions were also imposed on a facility in the Voronezh region. Moscow must end its brutal war and choose peace instead of building layered rings of air defense at the expense of other regions. Steps toward de-escalation are on the table – in energy and food security. What is needed is political will. I thank everyone who is strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. I am grateful to everyone who complements our long-range responses with responses through sanctions. Glory to Ukraine!

I’m very happy to have been part of this year’s European Forum Alpbach 2026 under the motto “How Europe Wins.” An important conversation “A Vision for the Europe We Are Shaping” about the Europe we want to build — and the responsibility we all share in shaping its future. #efa26

The “funniest” thing here is that the Russians themselves have long since stopped hiding or feeling embarrassed about their invasion of the Ukrainian Donbas in 2014–2015. Since about 2022, they have openly been giving interviews, savoring and bragging about their “brilliant sabotage operations” and “unsung secret exploits under a false flag.” The associates of the FSB colonel Igor Girkin, the war criminal convicted by the MH17 tribunal, who crossed the Ukrainian border with an armed detachment and seized Sloviansk, senior Russian generals who “coordinated” undeclared military operations on Ukrainian soil, or the now-dead ghoul Prigozhin, with his thugs and the neo-Nazi “Wagner” from the Russian special forces -- all of them have long been enthusiastically telling their own stories. They openly describe how, together with a core group of local collaborators under their control, they seized the region under the guise of a “popular uprising,” how they flooded the region with fighters and weapons from Russia, how the so-called “northern wind” arrived (that is, regular Russian battalion tactical groups without insignia) how the “Wagner Group” fought for Luhansk airport, how invading Russian troops carried out the slaughter at Ilovaisk, which regular Russian GRU and Ground Forces brigades, under whose command, carried out which maneuvers in the battle of Debaltseve, and so on. And only the useful idiots here on Twitter are still choking on long-expired stories from Russian television propaganda circa 2014, like “Ukraine attacked Russians in Donbas,” pretending they have no idea what actually happened. Fine, the bloodthirsty Russian Z-crowd sitting here through VPNs -- they live in a state of classic Orwellian doublethink: “We were never in Donbas, but did you see how brilliantly our troops fried the khokhols at Ilovaisk?” But one really ought to keep up, at least a little, with the constantly shifting, 180-degree turns in Russian state propaganda lore designed to serve one of the dirtiest, most inhuman, and endlessly mendacious wars of aggression in human history.

you know this story is bullshit because if trump had actually been there, we’d have spent the last 25 years hearing how he personally carried six firefighters out

Happy Bastille Day to President @EmmanuelMacron and the people of France. Bonne Fête Nationale, 🇫🇷! France’s history reminds us that even the strongest walls of tyranny can fall when people unite for freedom. Thank you for standing with us on our path to a free Belarus.

The Russians claim Ukrainians bombed a “dormitory with children” in Starobilsk. Here is the advertisement for that “dormitory with children.”

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Actually. No. Brandenburg isn’t met here. “Candace Owens' X post, stating "Do not join or remain in the United States Military. Trump has betrayed America and expects you to die for Israel. There is no honor in being led by dishonorable men to your death," does not constitute a crime under 18 U.S.C. § 2387. The statute criminalizes, with intent to impair the loyalty, morale, or discipline of U.S. military forces, advising, counseling, or urging "insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty by any member of the military or naval forces of the United States." While the post urges non-participation, including by current members ("remain"), it is general political criticism of foreign policy and leadership, not targeted counseling to specific individuals or calls for immediate action. Supreme Court precedent in Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969), holds that advocacy of law violation is protected by the First Amendment unless "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and... likely to incite or produce such action." The post lacks imminence or likelihood of producing desertion or refusal; it is abstract advocacy amid public debate on U.S.-Iran tensions. In United States v. Spock, 416 F.2d 165 (1st Cir. 1969), the court reversed convictions for conspiring to counsel draft evasion, requiring strict proof of specific intent to illegal aims in mixed legal-illegal advocacy, to avoid punishing protected criticism. Evidence of intent must be from unambiguous statements or acts showing adherence to illegality, not mere sympathy or general opposition. The defendants' public "Call to Resist Illegitimate Authority" included advocacy of resistance but was bifarious; convictions failed for lack of such proof for most defendants. Owens' post similarly mixes protected policy critique with general urging, without evidence of specific intent to cause unlawful acts. No post-Brandenburg precedent upholds a § 2387 conviction for comparable civilian public speech. WWII-era cases like Dunne v. United States, 138 F.2d 137 (8th Cir. 1943), predate modern First Amendment standards and involved direct wartime pamphlet distribution urging insubordination. Recent citations to § 2387 involve military personnel (e.g., Priest v. Secretary of the Navy, 570 F.2d 1013 (D.C. Cir. 1977)) or unrelated contexts, not civilian political posts.”

Russia is helping Iran target and kill American soldiers. It shouldn’t be a surprise when your enemy acts like your enemy. I eagerly await hearing from Trump how this is Zelenskyy‘s fault.
“Russia is providing Iran with targeting information to attack American forces in the Middle East, the first indication that another major U.S. adversary is participating — even indirectly — in the war, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence. The assistance, which has not been previously reported, signals that the rapidly expanding conflict now features one of America’s chief nuclear-armed competitors with exquisite intelligence capabilities. Since the war began Saturday, Russia has passed Iran the locations of U.S. military assets, including warships and aircraft, said the three officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.” @nakashimae @wstrobel @noahjrobertson washingtonpost.com/national-…
