I really like Sam Matterface and Peter Drury. I think they are magnificent wordsmiths, and capture the moment and intensity with lyrical prose and necessary statistics and bon mots. I love how they use silence as an effective commentary method.

The Goldstone Ground was a historic football stadium located on Old Shoreham Road in Hove, East Sussex, which served as the iconic home of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. for 95 years between 1902 and 1997.
Originally cattle grazing land, the ground was first developed for Hove F.C. in 1901. Brighton & Hove Albion began using it in 1902 and became the sole tenants by 1904.
A peak crowd of 36,747 spectators packed into the stadium on 27 December 1958 to watch the Seagulls take on Fulham.
The venue was one of only two stadiums outside of London to host football matches during the 1948 London Olympic Games.
That walk to the car park was always a load of fun.
