This is an urgent call from Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, Provincial Superior of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, inviting Massachusetts residents who support the referendum effort to join the campaign seeking to repeal Chapter 188 of the Acts of 2026, the abortion law signed by Governor Maura Healey on August 10, 2026. A referendum campaign organized through the Compassionate Care Coalition is seeking to suspend and repeal Chapter 188. Organizations supporting the effort include Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Massachusetts Family Action, and Massachusetts Family Institute. The referendum effort requires physical petition signatures, and October 23, 2026 is the signature-gathering deadline. We are also seeking volunteers to help collect and process petition signatures. For information about the petition, signing locations, volunteer opportunities, and the campaign’s position on Chapter 188, visit: repeal188.com divinemercyplus.org/videos/r…

Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, explains the true roles of husband and wife in Christian marriage and their sacred mission of helping each other reach Heaven. How can the husband be the head of the family while both spouses remain equal in dignity? Scripture teaches that the husband is called to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, sacrificing himself for her even to the point of death. The wife is called to lovingly cooperate with her husband in their shared mission of holiness. This teaching is available here: youtu.be/h5gCgRapJmk
