An email I sent to the summer 2007 YC batch to encourage them before Demo Day. It's all still true today.

I miss the old Roy
he doesn't look healthy and I wonder if it's the peptides/drugs he's taking. he said he'd rather die successfully at 30 than live happily to 80, which feels dystopian.
he's stuttering more and less confident in his words relative to previous podcasts.
Roy is still young and I don't want his unfiltered personality to be ruined by the system. I hope he takes better care of his body before there's irreversible damage.
Hey everyone just wanted to let you know that we have applied for @ycombinator Fall 2026.
Thanks to everyone who supported us.
Especially to all our followers, thank you so much.

Never be afraid of making mistakes.
Unless its git.
Then be afraid.
Be Very afraid.

Looking for people in SaaS, content production, and product distribution to join us at @holtars.
We're launching very soon and looking for people who want to help build not just the product, but how it's seen, shared, and grows.
If you're interested in the opportunity, follow me and send me a DM.

Developers aren't afraid of shipping broken code.
They're afraid of people seeing it.
So they keep refactoring.
Add "just one more feature."
Polish things nobody asked for.
Perfection is often just procrastination with better branding.
Btw will also be lauching soon

📢 Silicon Valley right now (July 2026) is in a completely different phase.
The hype cycle is over.
The real execution phase has begun. Here’s what the strongest YC batch in years (W26) + the broader ecosystem is actually showing:• Agentic AI is no longer theoretical Founders are building agents that plug into decades-old legacy systems, operate manufacturing equipment, and run real supply chains. “Computer use” and reverse-engineering are the new APIs.• Vertical AI is routing around incumbents Instead of integrating with big software, many startups are just taking over the workflows entirely. Fragmented industries are wide open.• Physical + Embodied AI is accelerating YC’s own Requests for Startups are explicitly pushing AI into hardware, robotics, silicon, and the real world. W26 had a noticeable deep-tech/hardware tilt.• International founders are moving to SF fast Post-YC, teams with traction in their home countries are relocating to the Bay Area within weeks to chase the bigger market.• The bar has gone way up Early high-ACV enterprise deals, self-improving agent “org charts,” and products that get smarter without constant human input are becoming table stakes.Silicon Valley’s ecosystem value just crossed $3 trillion. AI is no longer a feature it’s the foundation everything is being rebuilt on.The next wave of massive companies will come from people who make AI actually work in messy, real-world environments.Fall 2026 YC applications close July 27. The window is open.
What part of this shift surprises you the most? #SiliconValley #YCombinator #AgenticAI #StartupEcosystem #AI2026

We are entering a completely new era of science
Here is Yuji Tachikawa from Japan (Mathematical Physics, String Theory, QFT) on recent progress in his own work using Fable 5 :
"I've been trying out Claude Fable recently, and last night, on a whim, I showed it my research notes about a collaborative project that's seen no progress in the past six months or so and asked for its thoughts. To my surprise, it made a non-trivial observation and essentially solved it."
"I was also surprised that it was using sympy to automatically write code and verify his own predictions."
"Fable probably seems like it properly understands string theory and has intuition too—that's my impression"

Fabricate a YC story, farm the outrage, collect 200K impressions.
Respect to @garrytan for showing up in the replies within minutes and calling it what it is(bullshit).
The views expire in 48 hours. The screenshot of him calling you libelous is forever. Worst trade in startups.
I don't get the math. If you believe in what you're building, @ycombinator 's opinion is a detail. If you don't, no accelerator fixes that.
