google’s about to do what Meta did and stage a big comeback in AI - they’re on track to be the #1 spender on compute next year ($350 billion) plus they’re now cooking up MULTIPLE models at a time (Carbon is next) but the strongest indicator is their enterprise growth - they’re finally converting their stickiest moat to use their AI, huge turning point (and exactly what meta’s doing with muse enterprise) gemini is officially Google’s fastest growing product, it grew by 600M users in 3 months to hit 1 billion users in august

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. W.B. Yeats

I remember having my time wasted with one of these a few years ago, and it was from Dennis Quaid. This one's from Damon John. If you're a business owner, they're going to talk to you like two or three times, and then they're going to say, "Awesome, you have a co-production cost of like $50,000."

Change the Vol midway, Ai can't do that.... Dekhte jao, vo kya nahi kar sakta, u will get to know... As I asked recently, show me a Robot who can work in a Lab without anyone prompting it and discover a new Drug... On its own.... Ai can think, right? Super intelligent? Show me that first...
NOBEL WINNER SAYS AI WON'T REPLACE SCIENTISTS ANYTIME SOON jennifer doudna won the 2020 chemistry Nobel for CRISPR, and this summer her lab used AI to design new gene editors. so she's not someone you'd expect to say this her reason is surprisingly small: a grad student can decide mid-experiment to double a volume or handle a sample differently, and just do it. for a robot, the same change takes a lot of work, and she says she's watched that happen in her own lab i think she's pointing at something bigger than science. we keep measuring AI by how smart it is, but most real work looks like her grad student: a plan that breaks halfway, and someone fixing it on the spot so here's a quick test for your own job. how often does your plan change halfway through because of something only you can see in the room? the work that stays human is the work where the plan keeps breaking

Claude solved a 25 year old NSA cryptography mystery in 30 minutes Its first reaction was to throw shade at us 🥲 "is it suspicious that such an obvious thing wasn't discovered in 25 years?" "Am I in some sort of simulated/test environment?" This is a glimpse of the POV of an Actual Fucking Superintelligence. Claude isn't an AFS yet, but will likely be in 3 months to 2 years unless we pause Like when we watch toddlers struggling with simple puzzles, everything hard to us will seem obvious to them h/t @slimer48484

jack’s pretty spot on here, you don’t need to be an ai researcher to see it either: - 3 years ago ai models couldn’t do simple math. couldn’t count the letters in “strawberry” - today the most powerful models have solved coding and are solving the most challenging problems in maths, physics and genetics. soon (and i mean very soon) it’ll expand for medicine, cancer, knowledge work etc - model’s are improving at a blistering pace, new releases every 13 days. this eventually snowballs into rsi. - all while the cost of intelligence is plummeting. the frontier models of last quarter is now being served to you at 1/8th the cost. and the craziest part is barely anyone is even using AI. there’s a whole wide world of jobs, tasks, problems that can (and will) be eaten up by the singularity we just don’t notice it because it hasn’t affected “us individually” but doesn’t mean it’s not coming. anyways, think people will be very surprised next year when what ai did to software engineering comes barrelling into modern day humanity.
I’m speaking at the IMF in an hour about the singularity and why I believe it has begun and the choices we'll need to make. Watch live here: youtube.com/live/Rqt9kWoTJbc…

I hated him too. I actually like Hayden Christensen as an actor (he's amazing in SHATTERED GLASS), but in the Star Wars prequels, he vacillates between completely flat affect and "autistic tantrum." Which means we can blame George Lucas for Christensen's shit prequel acting.
Went back to read reviews of Star Wars Episode 3 from 2005-2006 and the most striking thing i found in these reviews is just how much they disliked Hayden Christensen as Anakin It's legit one of the biggest complains that constantly comes up in these olds forum posts and blogs
