“If the military is asking for it, you’re too late.”
Our CEO @ZaneMountcastle joined @DisruptionHedge to explain why, the bet behind Picogrid, and why he thinks LA could produce more $100 billion companies than San Francisco over the next 25 years.

Thank you @RationalOptSoc for this: I’ll have to remember to bring it to a Gundo bonfire so I can chop some wood.

Holt shit, what an experience. Thank you @noahrshinn
My conversation with Noah Shinn (@noahrshinn), founder of Instinct.
Noah is building a personal AI assistant. It's still invite only, has spent nothing on marketing, and is growing roughly 10% A DAY.
This is his first long conversation about the company.
We discuss:
- Why Instinct doesn't have an app
- Buying compute months ahead of exponential demand
- How users learn to trust it with a credit card
- Safety and security
- Agents coordinating with other people's agents
- Instinct's business model
- Apps built on consumer inertia
- and more
Enjoy!

Today, we’re announcing Varda’s $250M Series D raise, bringing the total amount of capital raised to $598 million with a $1.6B valuation.
This funding will help us build more vehicles, grow pharmaceutical partnerships, and advance toward the first medicine manufactured in space for patients on Earth.

I've been storing this one for quite a while!
We now officially supply chemically pure grade methane in California with our partner @westairgases. Photos are with our first externalized six pack during the spring.
An insane amount of hard work went into making this happen. I try not to think too much about the blood sweat and tears of the last five years but this milestone makes it particularly sweet.

Terraform is hiring! If you're an ambitious technically minded savant, Terraform is an incredible place to get exposed to every aspect of building a hardware business from sales and hiring to design test and analysis!
I've had the pleasure of getting to know @jakeadler and the whole Pilgrim team and they are an exceptional bunch.
Very excited about what they are building. Watch this space!

AI is getting cheaper more quickly than any other transformative tech in history. At a given level of performance, cost has fallen ~47%/quarter since 2023.
That’s 4× faster than DNA sequencing, 6× faster than compute, 18× faster than lithium batteries, and (up to 1973) 54× faster than electricity.
