“I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.” - Psalms 119:75
Yesterday, in the Roman Martyrology, was the memorial of “St. Pelagia, surnamed the Penitent.” An actress and prostitute in Antioch, her story appears in an early hagiography by “the Deacon, James” in the fourth century. Her story is below:
The night before she was to take off her baptismal gown, Pelagia took one of Nonnus’ robes, and telling only him, left the city for the Mount of Olives. She disguised herself as a man to live there as a monk, where she did for 3 or 4 years before passing away.

Please pray for a man whose oxygen tank died on our flight and we almost had to divert. We landed and he was taken to the ER.

In Victorian times fainting couches exploded in popularity because women read about novel heroines fainting so they, irl women, started fainting all the time.
