Yoruba culture honours Animals The Yorùbá attach great importance to oríkì, the laudatory/descriptive poetry of the Yorùbá. So they have personal oríkì addressed to individuals and they also have lineage or clan oríkì panegyric. A close observation of the Yorùbá people reveals that they also create oríkì for their animals. There are numerous examples of animal panegyric in the tradition, and some are included below. The first one is about antelope, which they call Etu.

Today, i dyed with natural dyes using turmeric roots and hibiscus flowers. The technique is Adire Alabẹrẹ, a yoruba stictch-resist tie and dye technique, also known as Ori-Nui shibori in Japan. Catch up with the story behind the pattern tomorrow.

Official Artwork inspired by Adire Textile arts #DADA Oct 23rd
My next single was inspired by the idea Origins.. I was born in Lagos but I’m not from Lagos like so many of us. My family is from Egba Gbagura, Abeokuta Ogun state…. Feels great to create a sound experiment around where I’m from. I’m in my Afro-Soul fusion mood these days and I can’t wait to share my new journey with U.

Nothing valuable is built overnight. Everything worth having is built on consistency. Fitness, business growth, skill mastery, none of it happens in a day. Stop rushing the process. Show up daily and keep pushing.

Can you imagine a space where our everyday household decors are both pices of art and deep stories? That's the problem I want to solve. Carrying the pulse of history into our own homes. As aroko to heal the mind, constant reminder of the things that are ours.
