WAMU’s food culture podcast @DishCity is nominated for ANOTHER James Beard Award this year. It’s a huge accomplishment, and in celebration, we’re revisiting this conversation about all things D.C. food with the show’s creators, Ruth Tam and Patrick Fort.

We, and D.C., are indebted to Arianne & Scott Bennett and Amsterdam Falafel, which @timcarman reports is closing on May 27.
It was an honor to interview Arianne in our episode about Adams Morgan's late night food scene and jumbo slice: wamu.org/story/19/09/26/jumb…

I hate starting the week like this. I have sad news to pass along: @amsterdamdc, the shop that redefined late-night eating in AdMo, is closing on May 27th. The owner of the building wants to sell it.
This means that Arianne Bennett loses not just her business but her home.
Meals served around the world are made by people whose labor is often rendered invisible. Nowhere is that more true than the friendly skies.

I'm so late to this but wow, this fantastic ep of @DishCity answered so many questions I had about DC's Chinatown—and even more that I didn't. Amazing work: wamu.org/story/22/06/09/deve…
