I was on CNN today to talk about chemicals used in plastics that are not thoroughly tested for health and safety. And even the ones we know that are "high risk" show up in toys, food packaging, hygiene products, household products. The chemicals don't stay there - they get out into air, dust, water, food. And our bodies. It's a broken system. (That we're working hard to fix.)

❗️ Amazon is giving its delivery drivers smart glasses that snap photos almost constantly to help its AI map neighbourhoods, capturing people and private property across potentially several thousand images per shift.
Asked whether customers can opt out, Amazon's Viraj Chatterjee said, "We haven't thought about that."
Amazon wants 20,000+ pairs on routes by end-2027 and confirmed the images can be obtained with a warrant.

I wish I could properly describe the decline I am experiencing among my #LongCovid friends (and me) but I will give it a try. In late 2023/early 2024 I was blessed to be invited to join a robust group where we shared fears, laughs, stories, etc., every day. We became friends. These are the people who supported me when my husband had a heart attack in 2024. By the end of 2025, several had stopped participating and one had died. Now, those of us who are left meet less than once a week, if that. And when we do there is no laughter. We are more sick, more cognitively impaired, and, therefore, more isolated even from one another. This disease is progressive, stealthy, and cruel. Why people have ignored the risk of infecting themselves and their kids with SARS-CoV-2, a BSL-3 pathogen, despite all of our urgent warnings and testimony, is beyond me. It makes me so angry and so very sad.

Last night russia attacked an animal shelter, killing dogs and cats. It wasn't the first time.
Best Friends shelter, March 1 2022. 260 cats and 100 dogs killed.
Municipal dog shelter, Borodyanka. russia occupied the town and left the animals to starve. Over 300 dogs died of hunger and thirst.

Switzerland has lost almost 20% of its glacier ice in just five years.
In 2026 alone, Swiss glaciers lost another 5.5% of their ice volume, following intense summer heat and low winter snowfall.
Scientists estimate that limiting warming to 1.5–2°C could preserve around a quarter of Switzerland’s glacier ice. On the current path, however, practically all of it could be gone by 2100.

6:30 PM: The heat wave will begin Friday October 2 at 12 PM and last through next Thursday October 8 at 7 PM. This particular heat wave is a long-duration event. In combination, very warm sea surface temperatures make it feel even hotter than what the actual temperature will be. This 594 heat dome axis will expand over much of Central and Southern California bumping up temperatures from 104°- 110° during this lengthy duration.
It's pretty simple everyone will be sweating and feeling miserable as we start October 2026. Everyone going to those Halloween events across Southern California will have no relief overnight from the heat. Temperatures will remain 85° to 92° during the overnight hours, which can make it very difficult to sleep, and a lot of people will sweat during the overnight hours.
Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and electrolytes. Please check on the elderly and your pets; make sure they have enough food and water. Please check on the new compromise as heat stroke or heat exhaustion can occur very easily. Also, there’s a possibility of power outages due to the severity of this heat wave because everybody’s going to try to cool off with air conditioning across our region. #CAwx #heatwave
