#MorningPrayer Encourage us, Lord Jesus, to be a people of prayer; enthuse our hearts and inspire our souls to be open to your Spirit; to wait upon and to listen for your wisdom, your guidance, your call and your challenge, your consolation and care, your inspiration and insight.

#MorningPrayer Keep us conscious, Lord Jesus, of our need for your grace and mercy, for your forgiveness of the many ways we fail to be Christlike in our words, actions, thoughts and attitudes; and keep us from our propensity to judge our fellow disciples as if we know your mind.

#MorningPrayer Excite us, Lord Jesus, with the message of your gospel, to the good news of your love, to a vision of the kingdom. May the Spirit, like a dove, rest upon us, be within us, that your peace may be our prize, as we share the story of your grace and open people’s eyes.

#MorningPrayer Holy Trinity, Creator God, you form each of us; unique individuals yet made in your image and seeking the community which is at the heart of your own being. Help us to find our voices and work on the harmony which allows us, together, to sing the song of your love.

#MorningPrayer Inspire us, Lord Jesus, to rejoice in you; to find our value not in the background we have inherited, not in the position or wealth that we make for ourselves, but in the identity we have in your love for us and your invitation to be your people, and walk your way.

#MorningPrayer Hold our focus, Lord Jesus; fix our hearts on your love, that we may live in the hope that you offer and embody. Keep us from pursuing the building of our own empires; let our ambition be for your kingdom, and for the life you offer in the joy of your resurrection.

#MorningPrayer Lord Jesus, may your presence be with us and in us to strengthen us in your grace, to bind us in the deep harmony of your kingdom and your will, to foster in us a deep wisdom and undefended humility that listens to your call and chooses your way of fulfilling love.

#MorningPrayer Keep our focus, Lord Jesus, away from selfishness and ego and rather upon your kingdom and our call to listen to you, to learn from and grow in you, to become more like you in all our words and ways; as you draw us by your love, help us to share that love with all.

#MorningPrayer Lord Jesus, enliven our curiosity about the call of your Spirit, and the things you teach us as we seek to follow your way. Keep our hearts open to hear you afresh today; never to be hidebound by what we think we know, but open to your wisdom, and led by your love.

#MorningPrayer Open our hearts, Lord Jesus, to the hospitality of others, that we may respond with gratitude and joy, not imposing our control, nor setting our agenda, nor insisting on our own way, but remaining open to your Spirit as we seek to receive, and reciprocate, in love.

#MorningPrayer Settle our hearts, Lord Jesus, amid the storms of life, that we may keep our focus on your presence with us, your love for us, and your leading of us even in the roughest seas; may your peace be within us, and your wisdom guide us, that hope, not fear, may fill us.

#MorningPrayer Save us, Lord Jesus, from captivity to our ego, from our human fear of losing face before others; give us rather an openness to the call of your Spirit and the leading of your wisdom. May we have courage to change, and to set our course by the compass of your love.

#MorningPrayer Inspire us, Lord Jesus, that we may always be ready to speak of the hope we have and the love we share, in you. Whomever we address, may the grace of your gospel and the call of your kingdom be seen in our words and ways. Let our lives shine with your light to all.

#MorningPrayer Make us ready, Lord Jesus, to own before you our sins, to let your light expose to us the ways in which we fail you, and to be open to your healing love and your forgiveness. Inspire us to harness our will to the yoke of your Spirit, that we may be led in your way.

#MorningPrayer Lord Jesus, steer our hearts away from a yearning to seek our identity and security in the approval of others or in the acquisition of material wealth and worldly power. Give us rather a solid foundation in your love for us, your image in us, so we know your peace.

Give us, Lord Jesus, a passion; not for seeking to impress those who hold power, place and prestige in the eyes of the world, but a passion to seek and serve the justice and truth of your kingdom, to follow the leading of your Spirit, to look to the revealing of your love to all.
