Fat. Obese. Anorexic. Content. Always judging... These are a few of the words AAR staffers used to describe the way they see their bodies and their weights. We're sharing our stories today. We hope they help.

Actively seeking submissions for romance novels!
I love LGBTQ protagonists, full length novels (85K+), paranormals, historicals, fantasy romance, second chance love, enemies to lovers, sexy, daring.

The @nytimes is, finally and respectfully, reviewing romance. This article, which assesses novels by @JuliaFLondon, @jennyholi, @AlyssaColeLit, @JayneAnnKrentz, and Loretta Chase, is worth celebrating. So we are!

Oops I tripped and fell on this here soapbox...
"Guilty pleasure" is a garbage phrase and idea.
There is absolutely no reason to feel guilt for taking pleasure in reading.
Literary fiction is not inherently better than genre fiction.

Replying to @TheRippedBodice
I feel like someone should script up the inevitable structure of the potential articles in question, with a drinking game to boot:
(dismissive intro) (comment on harlequins | bodice ripping | fabio) (note primacy of women's involvement) (50shades, bdsm, and quality control) etc.

You do you.
BUT the tides are changing. We are seeing more and more articles that do NOT start from a knowledge base of zero. And we have to allow room for growth, improvement, and change.

It's PERFECTLY ok to refuse to answer a question for any reason. It's more than ok to refuse to answer questions that make you uncomfortable. Especially if they are you your personal sex life, or the sex lives of your readers.

It's ok to (politely) push back against phrases or terminology that is outdated. It's ok to flinch when Fabio is mentioned, and then remind the writer Fabio hasn't been on the cover of a book in literally decades.
