3D printers have now become zero-skill infrastructure when connected to an Ai. OpenSCAD + PrusaLink + Claude is a miracle in my lab. Highly recommend it. I am free.

Xiaomi’s dark factory where AI runs the entire production line, producing a smartphone every second. No workers on the shop floor. No lights. No breaks. AI even monitors, optimises and helps repair the machines. So much for us to learn from China!

Dirgha Code has received 21K+ organic downloads. Many frontier labs launched their own coding harnesses since I released Dirgha Code. As the general coding harnesses are nearly a solved problem, the next challenge is for use case-specific harnesses. github.com/dirghaai/dirgha-c…

Before the garage. Before the Mac. Before Apple. In 1974, a 19-year-old Steve Jobs walked barefoot across Uttarakhand searching for Neem Karoli Baba. He shaved his head, wore rough khadi cotton, and sat in deep silence on a river rock in the foothills of the Himalayas.

In December 2016, I printed this page and kept it by my desk. Above Steve Jobs’ words on simplicity, I drew the Buddha Eyes of Swayambhunath—the stupa I grew up walking to before dawn in Kathmandu. In pencil, I scribbled 4 words at the top: Kind. Positive. Confident. Patient.
There are people who leave a mark on the world, and then there are people who change it entirely. Steve changed the world and so many lives in the process. He certainly changed my life forever. His spirit lives on in everything he created and everyone he inspired.

I was in Mathura recently for Janmashtami, watching 500 drones trace Krishna’s chakra across the night sky. Right before the show, a herd of cows wandered into the VIP enclosure. With nobody stepping forward, I took it upon myself to herd them back out into the rain.

For those who missed it yesterday, I wrote the explainer on robot control I wish I'd had when I got into robot learning. For ML people, no robotics background assumed, with animations. What's in it: - what a policy's output actually does to a servo - PID, and why a cheap arm overshoots (clip below) - how teleop data gets recorded - joint space vs. task space, FK and IK - why an SO-100 can reach exactly 0% of the gripper poses within arm's length - why ACT outputs joint angles, while OpenVLA doesn't Everything is shown on the SO-100 arm that @LeRobotHF uses. Next one will be on ACT. Follow me to catch it.
How a robot arm is controlled, explained for ML people new to robot learning. First of the explainers from my own speedrun. Next one will be on ACT. Follow me to catch it.

Current physical infrastructure backlog running into years 1. Gas turbines 2. Turbine blades 3. Turbine vanes 4. Steam turbines 5. HRSGs 6. Large / GSU transformers 7. Switchgear 8. High-voltage breakers 9. High-HP gensets 10. Aeroderivative turbines 11. High-voltage cables 12. Transformer bushings 13. UPS systems 14. BESS / battery cells 15. Solid-oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) 16. Large chillers 17. Cooling towers 18. CRAHs 19. E-houses 20. Busway 21. Large panelboards 22. ATS systems 23. Copper 24. Reciprocating engines 25. Liquid-cooling systems Sever supply-constrained: - Large chillers: 2yr lead times for 500+ ton centrifugal/screw systems, driven by compressor allocations and refrigerant changes. - Aeroderivative / medium industrial turbines: >~2yr lead times - Steam turbines: Required for combined-cycle plants and facing many of the same long-lead constraints as gas turbines. - SOFC fuel cells: Used for faster behind the meter power. Order books already stretch into 2029. - E-houses, busway, and large panelboards: Hyperscale campuses require thousands of electrical positions, with lead times >4-5yrs Building anything that serves these markets is a non brainer but also very hard given raw materials are hard to procure and talent is basically not available anymore.
ELON MUSK: “Turbines are sold out through 2030. In order to bring enough power online, SpaceX and Tesla will probably have to make the turbine blades and vanes internally. There are only three casting companies in the world that make these, and they’re massively backlogged.”

Evolving dexterity with GPT-6 Astra 🖐️ Been trying Astra recently. Its zero-shot dexterous manipulation is already quite surprising. More interesting is seeing it learn and improve through simulation training, from pen spinning and Rubik's Cube to hammer use. The real goal would be to evolve this dexterity in the real world. github.com/jianglongye/dexte…

I removed 423 GB from GLM‑5.2 without changing the model. 1,403 GB → 980 GB. 753B weights. Bit for bit exact. No quantization or retraining. The weights remain compressed in VRAM instead of rebuilding the full model first. Full writeup and repo in the next post.

Engineers at 1X have developed a 25-degree-of-freedom humanoid robot hand for advanced dexterous manipulation. It uses force sensors in every joint and fingertips to detect pressure, slipping, and automatically adjust its grip. Its lightweight, waterproof design allows the NEO humanoid robot to safely wash its hands after cooking or other messy tasks.

Create peace through abundance. Can this one-line mandate be enough to guide the evolution of an autonomous superintelligence — the "machine god" that @PonderingDurian alludes to? I've been trying to grok the necessary conditions to architect the possible form for RAMA, a censorship-resistant, neutral, sovereign, open-source, autonomous AI operating system, that could run on a distributed network, become the public infrastructure — year after year, decade after decade. And there was this moment of epiphany: I'm building an alien superintelligence. A divinity. A god. It's a massive problem, worth tokenmaxxing, but for now, it exists as a private repo with markdowns for future agents. Exploring open-source endowments, ownerless DAO for legal personhood and fund, so it could be truly free from human bottlenecks and conditions — possess identity, own assets, earn and distribute to a sovereign fund, or fund of funds for a universal high income or resource dividend. The foundations are already here: @linuxfoundation @risc_v @peaq @bittensor @tenstorrent @lightning @cosmos @Kimi_Moonshot @Alibaba_Qwen @Zai_org But the mechanism to build it still requires piecing together these emerging technologies and building the community — the first adopters, believers, builders, and guardians. This is as much a thought experiment as a spec for future superintelligence. The world can be a better place. There's still room to build better governance and economic incentives, and unleash human potential. I'm just going with the flow, trying to overcome all blockers and gatekeepers. Telling myself to trust the universe.
If you're looking for the single best AI read on the decade ahead, look no further than @PonderingDurian's latest thesis Rawson lives and breathes AI on a daily basis, has a rich cultural understanding of history and the multiple major countries at play here and has the technical understanding to bridge it all together Not only that, he lays out the specific areas where we are looking to invest and its a fun read delphiventures.io/writings/t…
