Today it's finally time to ship my papers off to @SmithsonianACM. I'm feeling some kind of way about letting go of so much of my life's work that I've been aggregating for 40 + years. But I'm also so proud that this day have arrived. Mixed emotions – at Bowie, MD

Today, the Anacostia Community Museum mourns the passing of artist Sam Gilliam. The painting "Muse I," characteristic of his nonrepresentational work from the 1960s, is part of our collection. 🎨: ow.ly/yMNS50JIZ41

🌱Gardens are more than seeds + soil, they've been sites of community empowerment, allowing us to connect w/ the land, feed communities & form emotional bonds. What happens when these spaces are no longer available? How can we retain the ability to steward our green spaces? 1/2

My sincere congratulations to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her confirmation as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. This is a truly historic occasion and one I know will be a great source of inspiration to young people everywhere to set their sights high.
