Texas Women’s Soccer moves into the top 25. A strong finish in soccer is very important in the Directors Cup with soccer being a required sport for the 3rd year now. After taking a 0 last year, even 25-50 points would be very helpful.

Dennis ran a 27:25 10k this summer in Germany. This would beat the collegiate outdoor championship record by 15 seconds. Comparing distance event times should be taken with a grain of salt due to pacing and race strategy, but still, being able to put up this time makes him a podium favorite.

Potentially a huge move for Texas and their future Directors’ Cup chances. I’ve long said that an elite distance runner is the most important athlete in the DC. 1 athlete that can help 3 teams (CC, indoor and outdoor track) score points is huge. Texas hasn’t dipped into the distance runner market previously but perhaps with the lifting of scholarship limits this is something we see more of going forward.
