People often complain about modern games being handholdy or too easy, and this is exactly why.
The modern “gamer” doesn’t want to engage with the slightest bit of friction or discomfort.
Somebody has already created a mod for The Blood of Dawnwalker that changes the 30 day time limit to 90 days. It is currently the most downloaded mod for the game.
Bit strange to do ngl, considering that it completely defeats the whole purpose of the game's design.

“The modern gamer” is 5k people who decided to mod their single player game?
Let people play the game however they want. It doesn’t affect you at all
Games should be fun. If playing a gauntlet is your cup of tea and you find that fun, fine. If timers feel more like work than fun, then players can change it, and that is also fine.
46,000 people are playing the game on steam alone right now and this mod has 5,000 downloads (and is not available on consoles). I think we can pump the breaks on “this says so much about modern gamers”
Less than 3k downloads on that mod in the screenshot and you're using that to justify the dumbass view you have on "modern gamers." Who fucking cares if people want to make their games easier and a more relaxing experience for themselves. Play the game the way you want
Does bro know how successful Elden Ring and Crimson Desert were? Monster Hunter?
Gamers love friction. It’s just that time constraints are almost universally hated/disliked. Very few games have the balls to add it as a mechanic and when they do, there’s always a way to reverse it(Majora’s Mask) or the sequels/remakes/remasters enable a Freeform mode(Dead Rising).
Calm down sprout.
