Emotional detachment and the stock market is a tough beast to conquer....

It’s not the “city of lights” anymore…
So much of Europe has lost its identity.

US futures opened green on what was being touted as black Monday all weekend.
Markets are highly unlikely to crash when everyone has gone to cash.
They are likely to crash when everyone is all in.
Everyone is expecting and prepared for a crash.
Crashes happen when they’re unexpected.
When leveraged positions force a cascade of selling.
Once people are already hedged and defensive, that fuel is gone.
The real risk is the move no one is positioned for.
All IMHO.
BLACK MONDAY 😱📉
It would be a complete dishonour for a market technician not to share this technical setup.
Monday marks the 39th anniversary of Black Monday October 19, 1987 when markets crashed an astonishing 22% in a single day.
While modern circuit breakers protect us from a total free-fall, the structural overlay between 1987 and today’s 2026 setup is eerie.
It would be something if Monday marks the beginning of something so beautiful, yet so consequential.
For one's private perusal.
Enjoy .

The market likes today’s quarterly report.
They remain a 2027-2030 proposition IMHO.
Having said that the as it’s a high beta stock the chart clearly shows they are in a step downwards trend.
Discloser held.
This is just for information purposes and not financial advice…
This is an oldie but a goodie.
How to make $1M on the #ASX in a week.
Start with $2M on the Monday and you will have $1M by the Friday 😬🤦♂️
Just when I thought Australian’s most expensive broker @CommSec updates could not get any worse this latest one is worse.
What are these ridiculous and confusing icons next to the tickers?
More so why does #CommSec bother to send us surveys when they pay zero attention.
My @IGAus market account is so much better and way cheaper.
The current coordinated declines in both the #ASX and housing market at this speed aren’t without precedent.
I recall the last time both fell together was 1989–91, driven primarily by aggressive interest rate rises.
Both markets eventually bottomed and began moving higher again once rates started coming down.
This current cycle is being driven by rate hikes as well, however the more important and worrying factor this time is the significant changes to capital gains tax.
Those changes do not appear to have delivered the intended outcome and have instead added to the downward pressure on both markets.
Despite this, I’m optimistic the dual decline will eventually reverse, just as it did last time, just as it does every time throughout history.
Happy Sunday folks

Where have all the buyers gone?
I agree the #ASX is a shit show!
Thoughts on losses.
I’m genuinely happy to see the wins from people I follow💯
What doesn’t get mentioned enough here are the losses.
It’s as if they don’t exist. They most certainly do!
So I’ll keep it real.
I took a medium portfolio sized loss this week which cancels a few months of profits.
The point now is to journal what happened, figure out where I went wrong, and turn it into a lesson instead of a distraction or punishment.
If anyone else wishes to come forth and vent any losses then please do.
The good news is CPI came slightly under expectations to 4% YOY.
Having said that how they work this out 4% on these figures is really out of my pay grade.
If you’re like me than all the consumables we normally buy have risen 10 to 20 and some cases 50% in the last year…

As expected the RBA hikes rates.
They expect more to come to bring down inflation to their target.
Good luck with that!
At its meeting today, the Board decided to increase the cash rate target by 25 basis points to 4.60 per cent.

ASX in bear market mode.
Funny enough Bank stocks propping up the index just one day before the expected rate hike…
Greenland was never about buying ice. It was always about military control of the region.
You only miss that if you never actually looked at a world map. It sits right on the polar routes between North America and Russia. Missiles, bombers, satellites the shortest path goes over or next to it. That’s why Pituffik (old Thule) is there.
Early warning. Space tracking.
First look at anything coming over the top.Same map puts it at the top of the GIUK gap.
That’s the choke point for Russian subs leaving the Arctic into the Atlantic. Cold War logic.
Still the logic.
US has been on that island since WWII. The 1951 deal never really ended. Today’s agreement just updates the same thing: more access, more bases, keep China and Russia out. Sovereignty language for Denmark and Greenland, military reality for Washington.
Minerals are a Plus . Shipping lanes later. The map came first. Always did.
Look what the #NASDAQ100 just did.
It blow past previous resistance and into the blue sky...
Does the kingdom of Denmark even know about this deal ?
It may have as much credibility as the “Iran is dying to make a deal”
However there is never a dull moment which keeps us plenty of entertainment.
