Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Thank you God 🙌🏽

Joe Kelly just dropped an anti-cap truth bomb:
Even if a salary cap meant every team could only offer Shohei Ohtani $10M, he’d still pick the Dodgers over Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, or Minnesota every single time.
Why? Because nobody’s Googling “best places to visit in America” and landing on those cities. Destination + winning culture still wins when the max money is the same for everyone.
A cap doesn’t create parity. It just makes the desirable spots even more dominant.
The Dodgers would love a salary cap.

As a former professional athlete who sacrificed more than most people will ever understand to reach the highest level of my craft, I find it absolutely COMICAL watching some of the most unathletic, undisciplined, uncoordinated people who have NEVER been elite at anything in their lives sit around and call professional athletes TRASH. 😂
Like seriously….. WTF am I missing? What exactly have YOU accomplished that gives you this sense of superiority over someone who reached a level that less than 1% of athletes will ever experience?
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and criticism comes with the territory. I get that. But it’s always fascinating how some of the loudest voices belong to people who haven’t accomplished a damn thing athletically since high school.
There’s a BIG difference between having an opinion about the game and disrespecting someone who actually mastered their craft enough to play it professionally.
Some of y’all need to learn that difference. 💯

I don’t have all the answers but I love baseball because of the ups and downs and constant grind. So here’s some thoughts for the “X hitting” war that is going on right now.

At some point, baseball has to get back to valuing ballplayers and not just numbers on a screen. Give me the Freddie Freemans, the Buster Poseys, Hunter Pences, Pablo Sandovals, Michael Youngs, Ian Kinslers of the world. Guys who just flat out know how to play the game. Everyone wants to talk launch angle and exit velo, but what happened to valuing a quality at bat?” The 9-pitch battle that might end in an out, but forces a pitcher to show everything he’s got.
The guy who hits behind the runner, takes what’s given, or just refuses to give a pitcher an easy inning. Those at-bats might not look sexy in the box score, but they show up in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Some of these dudes could absolutely leave the yard too. That’s the point. They weren’t one-dimensional. Somewhere along the way, we confused measurable tools with knowing how to win baseball games.
I’m not against analytics or hitting the ball hard, but there is an art to winning that you can’t fully measure. We need more guys who know how to play baseball, not just hitters, not just athletes, ballplayers. And I promise you, those dudes never go out of style

11 years sober! One of the best decisions I ever made on this day in 2015. Grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way to regain control and wake up every day a better version of myself as a father, husband, and friend. For anyone out there battling, just know you’re not alone and please speak up. There is a light at the end of the tunnel 🙏🏾

🚨🇸🇪 Zlatan Ibrahimović on Premier League clubs celebrating Manchester City’s 115 charges:
🗣️ Zlatan: “I don’t blame them for celebrating these charges. (laughs) We are talking about a club that has traumatized almost every other club in this league for years. Pep came to the Premier League hearing everyone say it’s the most difficult league in the world, then he came and farmed the league like it was a Division Two league.
“He exposed them. He dominated them for years. So if they can’t win against Manchester City on the pitch, I understand why they are celebrating what is happening off it.
“But now they talk as if these charges were the reason Manchester City dominated. Like that was the main tactic City came with onto the pitch. Forgetting the beautiful football they played, how they controlled games and how they actually won those trophies.
“You can celebrate the charges, you can talk about them, you can wait for the verdict. But don’t rewrite football history. Manchester City dominated on the pitch. That is why they won all those trophies.”

Tony Gwynn shares what it took to become one of the greatest hitters of all time and how to master the mental game.
"It took me a while to figure it out, but after about 4 or 5 years, I started to realize that this thing was more mental than it was physical."
He didn't figure it out alone.
"Those first 5 years, I had great conversations with a lot of great players. Pete Rose, Willie Stargell, Henry Aaron, Mike Schmidt. I had a chance to sit down and talk to 'em - pick their brain, find out how they do what they do."
The greats learn from the greats. They never stop learning. They never stop wanting to get better.
"After about 4 years, I started to realize that this is more mental than physical. So what I need to do is get an approach that I think will work and then just trust the approach. Trust what you practice on. Trust it."
That's the key. Create the plan then work the plan. And when it's not working, you still trust yourself.
"During the winter, I can hit in a cage and be mechanically sound. But the first time I hit live in spring training, I'll be lucky if I get a ball out of the cage."
"For younger guys, that's a sign of, 'Oh, I'm not getting out of the cage,' so they try to speed things up, do things quicker."
Trust your approach and stay under control. Don't let frustration change who you are.
The game is mental.
The greats know that and they learn how to build a process that works for them.
They adapt as needed, but they learn the art of focus. Focusing on how to master and trust the process.

Toronto is calling up outfielder Rudy Martin Jr., who is expected to make his debut after 12 years in the minors, a source tells ESPN. Martin, 30, was taken in the 25th round of the draft -- which doesn't exist anymore -- in 2014. Played indy ball, Mexican League and, now, MLB.
