Retail is approaching an inflection point, and most people are underestimating how fast it's coming. The traditional store model — drive there, walk the aisles, pay whatever the shelf says — is about to be outcompeted by AI-driven commerce. Picture planning not just a meal but your entire week, then having your agent source and order exactly what you need, delivered to your door. That isn't speculation; the early versions already exist. What accelerates this is access. As a new generation of builders gains powerful, affordable tools, services will improve by orders of magnitude, not increments. Incumbent retail, built on foot traffic and pricing power, is structurally exposed. Restaurants are the notable exception. A great restaurant was never just about food; it's a social, human experience, and that's precisely what automation can't replicate. Fast food is a different story.
