I absolutely LOVE what @DigitalEclipse has done with its interactive documentary releases. Atari 50, The Making of Karateka, Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection - I've often found myself thinking about what other games or developers would be perfect for that treatment. And there's one ultimate dream project I keep coming back to: FROM SOFTWARE: BEFORE THE SOULS An interactive documentary/anthology chronicling @fromsoftware_pr's road to Demon's Souls through King's Field, Shadow Tower, Echo Night, Kuon, Otogi and the other strange, fascinating games that built the DNA of modern FromSoftware. Keep the games themselves intact - remastered only enough to function beautifully on modern PCs and consoles, with modern control options and official translations for the titles that never made it West. Then give us the full Digital Eclipse treatment: interviews, concept art, development materials, contemporary coverage, archival footage and an interactive timeline that lets us actually play through the evolution of FromSoftware. King's Field → Shadow Tower → Demon's Souls. I realize this may be a MASSIVE ask and I'm leaning hard into wishful thinking here. But if there's even a tiny chance that putting the idea out into the world could trigger a conversation somewhere, I feel compelled to do exactly that. You already made the history. Please let Digital Eclipse preserve it.

Socialism is the high school group project. You do all the work, as your teammates wank off. Because you are responsible, you pull all-nighters to get it done, then they all get the same grade as you. Now multiply that by a billion and the teacher has a gun. That's socialism.
THEO VON: “Will you define socialism for us?” MAMDANI: “Socialism, to me, means that you will have WHATEVER YOU NEED to live a dignified life, and that it is the GOVERNMENT’S JOB to deliver on that.” I’ve heard a line like that before. It came from a famous book, and it was describing the highest stage of communism.

The latest statement from West Midlands Police seems to confirm they're still pursuing the man who was violently attacked in the street, charging him with assaulting a police officer. If that's the position they're sticking with, it's astonishing they still haven't simply apologised and dropped the charges. From everything that's now in the public domain, they appear to have got this badly wrong.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This Statement implies that they only knew about the assault because of the video rather than their own police actively being on the scene choosing to arrest the victim rather than the aggressors. It also highlights that they are still choosing to punish the victim. westmidlands.police.uk/news/west-midl…

Remember the name: Cody Harper. He's the 20 years old who was attacked by 3 men and arrested who is due in court on 23 July over an allegation of assaulting a police officer. Whilst the 3 men who attacked him simply walked away. If found guilty, he could reportedly face around 6–12 months in prison. The justice system has a responsibility to get this right.

In 17 days, Cody Harper will stand before a judge, and his life could change forever. I believe this case is incredibly unfair. If he is sent to prison, the entire justice system will come under public scrutiny like never before. He was attacked by three men. In my view, while clearly disorientated, he struck out at a police officer. The police then asked the public not to share these videos. But Cody's story need to be told. To me, Cody Harper was the victim, not the criminal. The country will be watching on 23rd July.

To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

For those mainly Pakistani men who have inflicted the very worst pain imaginable on innocent British children, please know this. There will come a day when the power of the British state that concealed your atrocious crimes for so very long is turned against you. It will be swift. It will be brutal. It will be severe. Because if Restore Britain gets a sniff of power, there will be a reckoning. I promise you that. We will show you the same mercy you showed our girls. Your race or religion will not protect you any longer. A message will be sent that is heard right across the world. If you rape our children, you will pay for it - and you will pay for it with everything. That is what Restore Britain will do.

I want to be really clear in my response. I am not going to retract anything, I stand by every single word. Labour are calling for me to apologise. The answer is no. Industrial rape across almost every town and city in Britain. Sexual torture. Murder. Endless rape. I sat there for two weeks, listening to these girls. I heard how one girl was raped by a dog, as Muslim men bet on what the animal would do. Girls drugged and locked in cages, like rats. Another, raped by 700 men over three years. Dozens and dozens of these stories through our inquiry, and we are barely scratching the surface. This was allowed to happen EXACTLY because politicians were cowards, refusing to discuss it. I will not make that same mistake. I said what I said, and I meant it. The Labour Party have blood on their hands, yet they think they can demand an apology from me for highlighting the systemic evil they allowed to infect our entire country? They can piss off. I am angry about it. Furious. When you hear directly from these girls about what they have been through, it changes the way you see politics. Forever. Our report will be out very soon. When that happens, I don’t want any apologies from the Labour Party. I don’t care about that. I want to see those politicians responsible for covering up this atrocity behind bars for what they have done to these girls.
