Postprostatectomy radiotherapy may be getting shorter - without sacrificing long-term cancer control.
Long-term NRG-GU003 data support 25-fraction hypofractionated RT as a potential alternative to the conventional 37-fraction course, with similar 5-year cancer control and patient-reported quality of life.
⚠️ The nuance matters: physician-reported grade 3 urinary toxicity was higher with the shorter schedule.
This is what meaningful de-escalation should look like:
same therapeutic goal, fewer hospital visits - but not at the expense of careful patient selection.
Would you consider 25 fractions your preferred postoperative schedule for an appropriate patient?

The reason I keep bringing up these points is when you are licensed in BC you can do anything within your scope of practice immediately. But a group of administrators and Drs decided that doing a test requires 10 agencies to approve it, only in this province why? Why create an unnavigable system that doesn’t exist anywhere else
It nearly destroyed me trying to get patients access to EMG nerve testing. I went on the news; I tried to reach every level of the MOH. Endless emails sent me back to yet another 5th or 8th agency needed. In Ontario, you get your medical licence; you start testing. In BC, up to ten different approvals. Here, they tell you that the BC government agencies won't forward the documents or collaborate due to the PHYSICIANS' privacy??! So yes, there are more BC administrators to oversee testing than there are doctors who can do the tests. My colleague worked in Alberta; it was instant; they came to BC, and it was months of rejected forms and denials. Absolutley not one of these people knew the process of how to do it properly. They have a government framework to ENSURE THAT they do not work for the patients or physicians, only to serve their governance. The insanity e of BC governance leadership is that they create so many silos of agencies that no one knows how it actually works.

$NWBO New material found:
Convenzis has published a 107-page collection of CancerCare 2026 conference slides. It contains an NHS presentation with useful new context for DCVax-L's potential UK implementation.
The most relevant material is Dr. Jessica Curtis's presentation on the NHS Cancer Vaccine Launch Pad (CVLP), pages 46-63.
What is significant?
The presentation provides concrete evidence of how extensively the NHS is developing infrastructure for personalized cancer immunotherapy trials.
Its reported progress includes:
-80 participating NHS locations and 26 trial locations.
-16 cellular pathology genomic centres.
More than 3,270 patients screened and 500 referred.
-More than 400 tissue samples prepared, with an average turnaround of 2.1 days.

Given the decision not to foresee a role for PAs in Diagnostic Radiology, it would be helpful to understand what distinguishes IR and Clinical Oncology.
Shouldn't patient safety and the protection of doctors' training guide the approach consistently across all specialties?
Replying to @RCRadiologists
We have been clear that we do not foresee a role for PAs in diagnostic radiology. Since then, working groups have developed scope of practice documents for PAs working in interventional radiology & clinical oncology. These will be available to all for consultation from Nov. 2/5
