P4 needs to break away from the NCAA, play 9 conference games and 3 non-conference games against an opponent from each league. The best and most deserving teams will make a 12 or 16 team playoff and the best team will likely win it all. Rip the band-aid off.

Huge news: 2025 @CFBPlayoff changes to straight seeding. Top 4 seeds get 1st-round byes regardless if it won a conference title, sources said. Conference champs still get auto-bids but are seeded based on ranking. This will be final year of 12-team playoff w/2026 playoff expanding to 14 or 16 teams, sources said. If straight seeding was in place last year the biggest differences: Texas & Penn State would have received 1st-round byes; Boise State drops from No. 3 to No. 9 seed; Arizona State from No. 4 to No. 11
