NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman reportedly bought up to $50 million in Shift4 Payments stocks—just weeks before SpaceX, a key Shift4 business partner, went public in the largest IPO in history.
That should *not* be allowed. readsludge.com/2026/06/18/na…
If you had told me 10 years ago that a billionaire would accuse humans of drinking too much water in 2026 because data centres need it to power the AI tech that is now threatening our entire way of life, I would have told you to write a better Bond villain, because wtf?

This is 94 to 104 Fahrenheit..

The Trump DOJ is now arguing in federal court that Elon Musk’s AI company should be allowed to run dozens of unpermitted gas turbines polluting a Black community in Mississippi. They also argued the federal government should have the power to shut down citizen lawsuits like this one entirely.
This is the Justice Department intervening on behalf of a polluter, against the people breathing the air it’s polluting.
That’s not protecting national security. That’s protecting Elon Musk.
Elon Musk just became a trillionaire. The community next to his data center is breathing smog-forming nitrogen oxide and formaldehyde.

BREAKING: Lawrence: “In the report by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan in today’s NYTimes, @JDVance began a White House meeting last year by arguing that it was time to invoke the Insurrection Act which allows the president to deploy the American military to put down insurrections and rebellions inside the United States. He did this after Renee Good and Alex Pretti were shot and killed by Donald Trump’s federal agents in Minnesota, when video recordings of the incidents showed that they did not pose any threats at all to the agents who shot and killed them. The Times reports Mr Vance got to the point. They needed to invoke the Insurrection Act SWIFTLY to crush the unrest in Minnesota. It would be painful in the short term, he said, but the message it would send, that paid agitators could not get away with disrupting ICE operations, would make sure no one tried it again. There was no evidence that either Mr Pretti or Ms Good had been paid activists.” 😳

Tim Snyder's right: US democracy can only be restored if we punish those who tried to overthrow it.
We failed after Jan 6. It's not just the useful idiots at the Capitol, or even Trump. We have to admit how many high-level people supported a plan to steal the people's vote. 1/

The defense for Flock Cameras, etc, is simple: “You’re in public, so you have no right to privacy.” But have you considered the endgame of that logic?
If privacy stops at your doorstep, then it is perfectly legal for a police AI drone to meet you at your driveway, follow you everywhere, and record every interaction you have all day long. Every single person, followed by a machine, every single day.
If that physical reality makes your skin crawl, then you cannot defend the digital version. An AI camera grid on the streets is just a robot cop following you that you’ve been told to ignore.

Facts matter. Trump is trying to restrict mail in voting by giving the federal government control to decide who is eligible to vote. That’s supposed to be up to the states, but Trump has decided the states can’t mail ballots to anyone who isn’t on his list. Read here to understand the EO & the lawsuits challenging it.

Carl Sagan explains why humanity’s oldest illusion collapses the moment we look at the real scale of the universe.
“Here we are, like mites on a plum. And the plum is this little planet.”
“And the plum goes around an insignificant local star, the Sun.”
“That star is on the obscure outskirts of an ordinary galaxy, the Milky Way.”
“The Milky Way contains hundreds of billions of other stars.”
“And this galaxy is only one among billions of other galaxies that make up the universe.”
“Now it is beginning to look as if even this universe may be one of an enormous number, maybe even an infinite number, of other closed-off universes.”
“So the idea that we are central…”
“That the reason there is a universe is us, is pathetic.”
“We have to understand the universe that we really live in.”
“Some of our myths and some of our religion are inconsistent with it.”
“It is time to change the myth.”

The Trump administration just paid Invenergy $765 million to cancel four wind projects. That brings the running total to roughly $2.5 billion in taxpayer money spent to stop energy from being built.
Think about that.
At a time when electricity demand is rising, the Trump administration is spending billions to reduce the amount of power that could reach the grid.
Trump has spent years attacking wind turbines as ugly and inefficient. He is entitled to his opinions about how they look. He is not entitled to make taxpayers finance those opinions.
Seven states have already sued over earlier agreements. Federal courts have repeatedly found legal defects in this administration’s efforts to halt offshore wind development. The administration has cited national security concerns while providing little public evidence to support them, and judges have said they were not convinced.
Strip away the politics and what remains is hard to defend.
Billions in taxpayer money paid to private companies to cancel planned energy projects during a period of rising demand.
Governments usually spend money to build things.
This administration is spending billions to make sure some things never get built.

Hydrogen peroxide alone does not dissolve or strip a polyurea or polyurethane coating, which is what was just added to the Reflecting Pool. However, applying industrial-strength peroxide can degrade the polymer structure, leading to swelling, discoloration, or delamination if the coating was improperly applied. So it's safe to assume the coating was not applied correctly to begin with. The substrate must be completely cleaned, dried, and properly primed before applying polyurea/polyurethane.
The damage is not the work of left-wing vandals. The damage was caused by the people who were paid $15 million for a job they are not qualified to do. This is a mixture of incompetence and ignorance. But hey, the pool guy was a Trump donor, so he got the no-bid government contract based on his donations, not his skill or knowledge.
