I remember talking to someone a while back about dating foreign women and she told me something I will never forget.

No one is saying desire is not real at all.
Most people are making the argument that desire is intangible when it comes to women and that in many cases what a woman says might attract them is very different from what actually attracts them.
I'm seeing a lot of comments that claim that "desire is not real."

You know, the kind of mouth-breather who also likes to go "you pay for it one way or another."
The kind of guy who has always needed to trade resources for fake, begrudging intimacy.
It's because those guys offer nothing besides resources, so they cannot fathom a world where a girl could be interested in a guy just because she likes him for who he is.
I've had countless girls just come over without a date and have a good time without asking me for anything else... even to this day.
Hell I had the greatest success with women when I was flat-out broke and living in a 150-square-foot studio apartment in Koreatown.
If that isn't desire, I don't know what is.
