The county of Garissa played host to a significant gathering of ODM delegates who assembled in large numbers to reaffirm the founding principles upon which our Party Leader built this movement: unity, justice, inclusion and an unwavering dedication to service of the people. I was honoured to join our Deputy Party Leader H.E. Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, Party Chairperson, H.E. Governor Gladys Wanga, Organizing Secretary, H.E. Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, our host, H.E. Governor Nathif Jama, Secretary General, Catherine Omanyo, the Party's Senators and Members of Parliament led by the Minority Leader and Director of Elections, Hon. Junet Mohamed as well as our Woman Representative candidate Hon. Umulkheir Harun, in a firm and collective declaration that the ideals Baba stood for will continue to guide our Party's path forward. Of particular significance was the presence of Raila Odinga Junior whose attendance served as a powerful reminder that ODM remains a home to all who believe in its founding vision. As a Party, we are resolved to honour Baba's legacy not merely in words but through deliberate action. We shall remain united, stand together through the challenges ahead and see this journey through to the end for the sake of our members and for the people of Kenya who continue to place their trust in us.

Together with fellow Mombasa leaders, We held an engaging meet-and-greet with women groups from Kisauni Sub-County. These hardworking women are driving the small and medium-sized enterprises and carrying the real weight of our economy. We had in-depth discussions on the socio-economic challenges they face every day. As leaders, we will continue standing with these courageous women every step of the way, strengthening their enterprises, opening doors to genuine opportunities and guaranteeing that no woman is left behind. Each of them deserves an equal shot at prospering and playing her part in shaping Mombasa's future.

I joined H.E. Dr. @WilliamsRuto, CGH, and my Cabinet Collegue for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Hon. Mutahi Kagwe on a tour of the exhibition stands of the Agriculture and Food Systems Transformation Summit 2026,and the display was truly remarkable. From cutting-edge agritech and smart farming solutions to innovations in fisheries, aquaculture, and the Blue Economy, the creativity on display is a testament to Kenya's boundless potential. These innovations will play a key role in advancing Food Sovereignty, Job Creation, and Shared Prosperity especially at the grassroots. #AFSS2026 #BlueEconomy #FoodSystems #BETA #WilliamRuto #Kenya #Innovation #FoodSovereignty
